Ayaan's POV
"No it will at least take me a week to get back from that trip. Make it the first week! And please ask Mr Ankith and Mrs Christina to submit the finance report for the party. I want everything clear before I leave for Netherlands" I informed Tanya who jotted everything down in her system. "Anything else?" She asked standing up and nodded a 'No'. "Oh! Ayaan you were supposed to meet the Synergy Team for further assignments" She reminded be before leaving and I nodded while thanking her for the reminder. I didn't quite forget the meeting but was maybe trying my best to avoid it because I didn't really know how to act around Amyra anymore. Moreover it's hard to see her so dead inside.
(Flashback)
"Its nothing she's just missing her Ammi" Dhrithi said dismissively. " Ha that's sad...keep her engaged. I'm too tired..I'll go get my coffee. You want some babe?" Avi asked Dhrithi and she nodded a 'yes' and left as he know I don't take it. "What happened to her?" I couldn't resist myself from asking though I don't really bother about people's personal life and it should be the same reason that brought a look of surprise to Dhrithi's face as well. ""She's just.. she just missing-" She stopped mid sentence probably seeing my annoyed face. " Do you think I'm that dumb? I would not have phoned you and asked you to check up on her right after my meeting with her if she seemed homesick" I tried to speak calmly. "Okay fine! But why are you getting so worked up about her?" She retorted with a look of suspicion. "What do you mean?" I asked confused. "Nothing" She replied looking at me intently. "Ayaan, I understand you are concerned about her but I don't think it's my place to say anything to you. I have decided not to mention to Avi as well and you know I share everything with him so I hope you get how personal this is. But she really is in a horrible place. I can only let you on that" She said as she looked hurt and disappointed. "It's her husband. Isn't It?" I didn't realise I voiced out my thoughts until I noticed the shocked face of Dhrithi. "Wa-what d-do you mean?" She stammered making my suspicion more stronger. " You don't want me to tell you how lively of a person she actually is but it was always evident that something was shadowing over that side of her. I've seen him Dhrithi , he's a-did he hurt her or something?" I asked the doubt that suddenly popped into my head. My heart sinked for a second seeing a look of horror and acknowledgement flash through her face. Wait! He wouldn't! "Ow ow ow... it's hot!" Avi's voice captured Dhrithi's attention and she took that opportunity to escape from our conversation as she moved away to help Avi with the hot coffee and snacks he was juggling.I snapped out of my thoughts when Tanya knocked on the door pointing at the meeting room and I indicated with my hands that I'll be there. For the past one week, my conversation with Dhrithi have been playing in my head. What confuses me even more is why I'm bothered about the possibility of something happening to Amyra. I don't even know this girl that well! We are not that close. But every time I see her, so lost and emotionless, it makes me really uncomfortable and a bad feeling that I really can't put my finger on, the conversation being in the back of my head didn't help either. I shook all the thoughts of my mind as I headed towards the meeting room. I open the door and a few of them greeted me casually which I returned. My eyes involuntarily scanned for Amyra but didn't find her. I looked for Dhrithi and found her standing by the corner behind everyone talking to Zaid. I decided to ignore her absence though a mail was sent to everyone to be here as this was an important meeting. "Really sorry for the delay, was caught up in some work. So as discussed earlier, Stanely, Sreesha and Tarun will continue to support the clients to help them set up the RCM and Zaid-" I was interrupted as I heard a knock on the door followed by a really tired looking Amyra entering the room. She excused herself and took a place in front of the group. She looked flustered and water dripping off her face. I ignored her as I continued "Zaid would be supporting TSP for time being but once the software is up and running, the co-" I stopped as my eyes fell on Amyra who kind of looked out of balance but I decided not to use the phrase 'are you okay' or call her out in front of everyone. I cleared my throat "uh.. yeah.. the core group would be working on the backend and-" I quickly rushed forward just in time to stop Amyra from falling down.
