"Stanely make sure the backlinks are rechecked. I did have a look at them but I would like you to double check it. Me and Amyra are heading over to the cafeteria for lunch" Dhrithi informed Stanley before pulling me to the cafeteria. In the past week, we grew really close and she has been a darling. Office was really an escape from life for me. The nine hours I spent here are the best time if my day and I always hate when its time to leave. I zoomed back into present when I noticed Dhrithi observing my face as she sat opposite to me at the table near the big glass wall of the cafeteria. "Do you know you are always lost in thoughts?" She asked, slightly amused and I nodded chuckling. "Always silent, lost in thoughts and I don't know sad?" She said and I chuckled again seeing how she's trying to figure me out. "But I for a fact know that you are actually a fun, outgoing and bubbly girl.. but just.. I don't know stuck with something?" She asked, wanting to confirm if her observation is correct and I just gave her a smile, a sad smile was all I could answer her with. A look of understanding appeared on her face and she dropped the subject. We then had a wonderful time, having fun, talking about her family. She's a really sweet and lucky girl with a wonderful family. I laughed at her stories about her nephew, Dhruv who is only three. Since her elder sister, Tara is pregnant for the second time, she's staying with Dhrithi and their parents. And her family sounded a lot of fun, reminded me of when Abu was there with Ammi, Abi and me. 'Allah! Please give him a place in Jannah' I made a silent prayer.

Once lunch was done, we were all back at our desks. Over the week I was able to catch up to what was done so far by the team. So much work was left and our deadline is nearing. I browsed through the reports for data on local, private and public healthcare providers in the city as for the Version 1.0 we were only focusing on the city and hopefully when this project is a success, the website would be launched around the world.

We were all busy with work when we received a mail stating Mr Ayaan have come back from his business trip from last week and we'd be having a meeting at eight. We hurried up with the work and I jotted down my observations and also the development of the skeleton version 0.1. I also had a few suggestions which I believe would add more value to the synopsis.

By sharp eight, we all gathered around the conference room because apparently Mr Ayaan is really particular about time and discipline. All were goofing around, pulling each others legs and I was enjoying the playfulness when suddenly the door opened and Mr Ayaan stepped inside with a man almost as good looking as Mr Ayaan. Mr Ayaan was in his formals as usual and so was the other gentleman who looked around same age as Mr Ayaan, minus the seriousness or intimidating look Mr Ayaan carries. Ugh! Why the hell am I comparing the two of them!? "Who is the other guy?" I whispered to Dhrithi, who stood right next to me. "Thats Avinash Kher, the legal advisor of the company, he's Ayaan's childhood best friend too" She whispered back and I nodded in understanding. "He's really dashing right?!" She whispered again, almost sounding like a fan girl. I observed him for a few more seconds. "Yes he is but I think Mr Ayaan looks way more dashing and handsome. I mean with his looks, smarts and money, girls should be drooling on him right?" I commented back in low whispers and she chuckled. "Yeah! You are right, Avinash is not that good looking after all. And yeah, Ayaan do have a lot of girls drooling over him and just imagine how much the fan base should be considering the fact that he's single too and-" Her whispers were interrupted when the legal advisor guy cleared his throat, seeking our attention. "Sorry for that delay guys, we just had to run over a few points" Mr Ayaan apologised. " Before we start the review I just wanted to let you know that the meetings I had over the week was an add on to our success because we just managed to get few more bidders. Companies are loving the concept, though they are not actually hyped by the moral value of the project but the monetary. So I'm hoping that would be the perfect boost for you guys to finish the project within the two month period left. You guys should leave on time too today considering its weekend and I don't feel its fair either" Mr Ayaan announced and all of us cheered at the double happy news. What followed that was a detailed review and discussion about the goals and plan of action hence forth.

"Seriously Mami Ji, that was absolutely unnecessary. He must be tired after work" I argued as I fumbled with my bag and file while trying to balance my phone between my shoulder and ear. "Don't be silly now, even if he's tired, he should come and pick you. He too have some responsibility right! Your mother and I have been worried the past week thinking about how you travel at this time all alone" Mami Ji reasoned while the bag slipped off my shoulder and onto the floor. Ugh! This is frustrating. "Oh please don't worry about me. Moreover I'm not alone Dhrithi drops me off whenever she can trust me the cabs are really safe. Everything is tracked in the apps" I reasoned again while collecting all the stuff that was spilled. "You'll understand the worry when you become a mother. He's home early anyway so its perfectly fine. I'll hangup now, just come home fast and safe" Mami Ji instructed before ending the call and I sighed. I noticed everyone got in the lifts and left already. It's sad that I can't take the steps down as other companied closes in the early evening leaving the stairs and hallways of the building pitch dark. But I appreciate that they are not wasting electricity unlike other companies. But it's really unlikely of Dhrithi to leave without me. Normally we leave together in one of the empty elevator, even that does not help me but I've learned to deal with it by now. Strange! She must have had something urgent or maybe had other plans it being Saturday and all. Sudden footsteps startled me and I turned around to find Mr Ayaan walking towards my direction working on his phone. I watched as he moved toward the keypad and punched in '0', his eyes still on his phone. The 'ding' sound of the lift distracted me from my focus and I moved towards the lift ready to say the alphabets backwards. "Oh! Mrs Amyra, sorry I didn't see you." He apologised once we both got inside the elevator. "No No, its fine Mr Ayaan" I said with a smile and soon the pressure in my chest started building up as my breathing started getting heavier. 'Shit! Alphabets! Z..Y..X..V no..W...V' I stoped murmuring once the elevator halted to the ground floor and I sprinted out onto the hallway. I noticed Mr Ayaan following me towards outside of the building where I found his driver waiting with his car. My eyes traveled a little left to meet with an angry looking Kaif. Oh Shit! "Where the hell were you?!" Kaif shouted at me as soon as I reached him. "Kaif, please let's talk at home" I requested as his voice was loud enough for the people around to hear and I didnt want him to create a scene in front of my colleagues and Mr Ayaan as they have no idea about my life. "Oh, stop it you bl- ugh! And what is all this drama? I've told you thousand times to stop playing your husband-wife shit.I don't give a damn about what happens to you so you better shut that old hag of yours and stop pulling my mom into all this" He yelled at me. My hands rolled into a fist as I gritted my teeth hard to stop myself from reacting in anyway. How dare he speak about my mother like that?! But I have to keep myself calm and not create any drama in front of these people who are already noticing us. I suddenly noticed how Mr Ayaan was starting to approach us, a concerned look on his face. I slightly nodded my head in negative, pleading with my eyes to not interfere. I was half relieved when he stood back understanding my message. "Please Kaif! I'll listen to whatever you have to say but please lets just go home" I pleaded as the tears that pooled around my eyes started trickling down. "Don't think it's over!" He warned before getting in the driver's seat and slamming the car door shut. I kept my head low as I jumped into the passenger seat at which he gave me a pointed look. I was beyond shocked. Why would this guy hate me so much?! I never forced him to marry me. He had free choice and now I'm being punished? I slowly got out the front seat and got inside that at the back, my tears kept increasing all the while.
