Say yes to me

[-]

"Such behavior is strictly unacceptable at Nevermore Academy, Miss Bardot. I'm not aware of the rules your previous school had, but I'm sure they weren't widely different from ours." Principle Weems walked around her desk and fireplace in rage.

"With all due respect, Principal Weems, but the girl was acting disrespectfully towards me when I was only trying to do my job," Alice tried to justify herself. "She didn't treat me correctly and I believe, before pointing fingers at the ones that stand out, you might want to dig deeper into the situation."

Principle Weems stopped in her tracks and turned to look at her. "Miss Bardot, are you accusing me of normie discrimination amongst outcasts?"

"In a way, I am." Alice proudly said.

"I will have you know, I have nothing against humans. In fact, I'm the person that manages all relations with the normies of Jericho, I always talk and have connections with people like you-"

"Are you trying to convince yourself you're better than you are or is your goal to make me believe you don't have a personal vendetta against humans like me?" Alice cut her off with a good one. "I suggest you think twice before answering."

Weems stared at her in astonishment and walked back to her seat with a scoff. "I'm going to let you off with just a warning, Miss Bardot, but I expect better from you in the future."

"The same goes for me." Alice agreed with a smile and stood up from her chair, walking out of the office and finding Marilyn unexpectedly standing right in front of the door. "Miss Thornhill?"

"I promise, I wasn't standing here all the time," Marilyn quickly explained. "But I did want to talk with you."

"Ugh, seriously?" Alice groaned. "I just had an hour-long talk with Weems and I have to continue it?"

"I'm not going to bash you or anything, Alice," Marilyn walked over to her and put her hand on her shoulder reassuringly. "I want to offer you my support."

Alice looked at her hand and after thinking about it for a moment, she nodded and the two began slowly walking across the empty hallway.

"When I told you last time the students here are very hard to...break the ice with, I didn't think it would happen this way, you know violence is not the answer."

"This was only a one-time thing, is it bad I wanted to stand up for myself? Weems made such a huge deal out of it."

"Because she's strict, that's all, she wants what's best for this school."

"And accusing people of doing something wrong without even asking me, the main witness, any questions about whether maybe I'm the victim?" Alice stopped at her pace and so did Marilyn. "This is purely unfair, Ms. Thornhill."

"I understand, Alice, and for you, I'll try and talk to Principle Weems about it, okay?" Marilyn kindly suggested. "Meanwhile, just try to focus on your studies and don't get into trouble."

"This is ridiculous," Alice sighed and the two continued walking. "But thank you, you're very kind, Ms. Thornhill. Are you doing it just because we're normal people or what?"

"I try to give guidance to any of my students if needed," Ms. Thornhill explained. "But yes, I thought being for you would prove to be good."

"Don't worry, it did, don't judge by one stupid thing that happened not even on school grounds. It may have just been the heat of the moment, that's all."

"I hope so, Alice. Believe me, I want nothing but the best for you, but I can't do much, you're on your own." Ms. Thornhill said to which Alice agreed.
