'Wow! Goa is just awesome. Isn't it Adwetha?' asked Samira who was also working in the same office as them.
'Yeah, it is indeed.' said Adwetha, playing with the seashells in her palm. Adwetha, Arnav, Samira and two other people from their office had come to Goa on a business trip. Today, they did not have much work. So, they had decided to take a walk by the beach.
The waves, sand and the setting sun were just amazing. All of them sat to play a game of never have I ever when Adwetha got a call and she stood up asking the rest of them to continue. Before they could stop her, she answered the call and walked away.
Arnav could sense that something was wrong so, he excused himself and went behind Adwetha. He took a few steps in the direction in which Adwetha had gone and saw her near the coconut trees, speaking to someone over the phone. She seemed to be tensed. When Adwetha was done speaking she cut the call and turned to see Arnav standing there. She didn't know whether he had overheard her conversation or not. His neutral expression didn't help her either. She didn't know how to react
'Whom were you talking to?' Arnav asked as soon as Adwetha turned to him.
'Arnav I...I...was talking to...'
'Do not even try to lie to me Adwetha because you will fail.' Arnav interrupted 'Adwetha, I do not know what you are doing but I surely can see that you are hiding something from all of us, even your parents. You had been coming to Goa at least twice a year from the past 6 years. When someone asks you the reason, you say that you love the place. But I know that it is a lie. Please Adwetha, say what is it that you are hiding from us. I hope you still are my best friend who doesn't hide anything from me.'
Adwetha started crying. Tears rolled down her cheeks. She hugged Arnav and wept. 'Shh... sorry I didn't mean to hurt you. If you don't want to tell me, it's ok. Please don't cry.' Arnav said, stroking her hair and tried to console her 'I really didn't mean to hurt you. I just wanted to know what...'
'Ridhi' as soon as the name left her mouth, Arnav froze. When Adwetha was finally consoled and Arnav was ready to hear what she had to say, they sat down facing the beach and Adwetha disclosed everything to him.
