'Happy birthday Ridhi you have become one more year older now.' Adwetha said as she fed her a piece of cake.
Viki, Manasvi and Arnav were fighting about who will get to eat the last piece of cake. It was Ridhi's birthday and they had gone to a park to celebrate.
Ridhi was studying in the same college as them and she was their super senior. However, their frequencies matched and they all became best of friends. Ridhi was a simple and beautiful girl. She was kind and polite. She helped Arnav, Adwetha, Viki and Manasvi with their studies. Her's was a typical Indian orthodox family. Her parents were religious. She tried to live the way her parents expected her to though she felt suffocated at times due to the walls they had built around her.
'Okay guys, listen' Ridhi called out to Arnav, Viki and Manasvi. 'I want to share something with you all, something important.' As she said this, Siddanth entered the scene. Ridhi had once introduced Sid as her close friend to them. Sid came and stood next to Ridhi and she continued 'Guys, this is Sid and...'
Manasvi interrupted 'But Ridhi we already know him. Why are you introducing him again?'
'Actually, what you know about him is not the truth.' Ridhi continued 'This is Sid and he is my boyfriend not close friend. Not like he is a boy and my friend. He is my boyfriend. We both are in a relationship for 2 years now and you are the first people to whom I am revealing this'
'Wow! Ridhi you are in a relationship? That's great news. Why didn't you tell us sooner? We are truly happy for you both. What say Arnav?' Adwetha asked Arnav who seemed to be in shock.
'Ah...yeah...we are happy for you both. Actually I have some work. Need to go. Bye guys.' Arnav said and left without allowing them to stop him.
Arnav had secretly developed feelings for Ridhi from the day he met her at the college canteen. He liked her polite and kind behavior. Her simplicity impressed him. He hadn't proposed to her because he had feared rejection. He had thought he could confess later but now, he realized that he had been living a life of fantasy. He hid his feelings and his heartbreak in himself.
