Natalia staggered into the compound, relieved to see James there waiting for her.

Neither of them said anything. James just embraced her, whispering into her ear. Whatever he said seemed to calm her down as her features relaxed and her posture went back to normal.

The rest watched the two, discussing amongst themselves. "Who was that?" Clint asked.

"Madame B, real name is unknown," Tony said.

"If you guys don't want to end up dead, I'll suggest you stop your investigations. The Red Room is extremely dangerous. Even Barnes couldn't escape," Wanda interrupted, a serious look on her face.

"Chill," Tony replied. "We fought with aliens from outer space and a robot with a huge ego. What can't we deal with?"

Wanda stared at him, until he started to fidget, before looking away. "Very well. But you've been warned."

As she walked away, Pietro came up to her. "Wouldn't something like 'don't say I didn't warn you' or 'you are toying with your fate' or 'stay safe' be more cool?"

"Oh be quiet, Pietro. Do you think we're in a movie?"

"Well, I've always had the feeling that I would die in one really quickly, so no. But I'd be the hottest, right?"

"Oh, you wish."

As the two continued with their squabbling over who was more physically athletic and good-looking, James and Natalia had secretly snuck outside. The rest were also busy trying to find out more about Madame B, with Steve chiding Tony about being more serious when the philanthropist suggested that they could name her 'forever single' or 'Madame A' instead of 'Madame B'.

"Seriously! Out of all the letters she couldn't have chosen 'p' or something?" Tony argued.

Clint grinned mischievously. "Or 'v'."

Thor roared with laughter. "Well done, fellow comrades!"

James and Natalia took a stroll outside, before deciding to stop and sit on a nearby bench to enjoy the scenery.

James caressed the back of Natalia's hand tenderly as she rested her head on his shoulder.

"I won't let us go back there, I promise," James said.

"Don't make promises you can't make, James. Don't forget that they separated us for 37 years." (Between the time when their relationship was discovered and their reunion after Bucky finally became Captain America in the comics, the couple was apart for around fifty years, so i'm just putting in a random number lol)

James cupped her face with his metal hand and rested their foreheads together.

"I know."

*sorry if this was short, i'm having an unfortunate writer's block :( *
