After the Danbi incident, the resistance group had been driving around aimlessly. There was an iron silence in the car. Nobody said anything. Not even Sota brought a small joke over his lips and this silence was oppressive. Wonho had taken over from Kihyun again and was now sitting behind the steering wheel again, giving the direction. The young confectioner himself had no idea where they were going that night. If it hadn't been for that terrible scream.

Hyungwon's ears perked up immediately, and with a wave of his hand he asked the driver to follow the sound.

A few minutes later, an acrid, foul stench permeated their noses.

"Oh my God!" gasped Sota, covering his mouth and nose with both hands. "What is it?" he asked, his voice muffled by his hands and barely intelligible.

Wonho and Hyungwon, who had a better view through the front seats and windshield, were extremely silent at first.

Finally Hyungwon said, "A charred body."

"Who would do such a thing?" asked Kihyun in the back rows, exchanging a glance with Yoongi.

The latter, on the other hand, could very well imagine who would do such a thing and gave a soft sigh. "That must have been the Purger who saved me," Yoongi muttered, drawing everyone's attention.

"Well. He obviously didn't want to save that person..." grumbled Sota, still struggling with that horrible stench.

Hyungwon could only nod in agreement.

"We should pick up his trail," the silver-haired man finally said in his usual calm. "No one should have to die like that ..."

Wonho sighed, but finally put the car in first gear and steered it down the road.

The blazing flames lambasted ceaselessly, stretching skyward and giving off tremendous heat. Sparks were flying. The air became visible due to the high temperature. The house in front of them was ablaze and one could hear the painful screams of the people living inside. It was cruel. The last screams of their lives sounded terrible. Kihyun, along with his best friend and the resistance, were standing right in front of it, had stopped the car a little further away when they spotted the bright, glaring light of the fire.

Hyungwon had made the right decision.

The resistance was here to help, yet it had been too late for these individuals. No one else had been willing to help.

But did the resistance, which with its helpers, totaled only five people, really have a chance?

Or was this pure suicide?
