CHAPTER SIXTY-THREE

AS FANA CHARGED AT THEM, Yoshiko's head began to throb more. She placed her hand on her head, putting some recovery magic into it to stop the pain.

"Grk!" She heard someone else groan.

She looked to the side. Ryuko had his hand on his forehead with his eyes twitching. Her brother was panting a little. Yoshiko could smell mint meaning he was healing his forehead.

Aniki... Is he also feeling the same thing as me?

"Why are the two of you feeling immense pain?"

Suddenly, everyone flew back due to Salamander's impact. Yuna grabbed Yoshiko and created a barrier of blood around them.

"Gah!" Yoshiko shouted as her head began to hurt even more than before.

"Yoshiko... What is going on with you and Ryuko-nii?" Yuna asked looking over at Ryuko who leaned onto Asta while holding his head.

"Damn it... why?" Ryuko panted as Asta put his arm around his shoulder.

"Ryu-nii! Are you okay?" Asta asked. He looked over at Yoshiko who was in the same state. "What's going on between you both? The same thing happened with Vetto when we fought him at the temple!"

"At the... temple...?" Ryuko asked, looking over at Asta. "That means..."

"Shit, neither of them are in any condition to fight!" Haruto said as he stood next to Asta. "We're gonna have to deal with her ourselves,"

"Miz Vanessa, Mister Finral, are you both alright?" Asta asked.

"We'll live but... that insane magic power of hers is creating a mana force field! It's preventing me from manipulating space!" Finral said as he tried creating a portal but failed.

"The second I put thread magic out there, it gets burned!" Vanessa exclaimed. "What incredible magic power! It's almost like the head of the Dragon Tribe's!"

"The head?" Asta asked.

"Our cousin, Hitoshi Yamashita. He's the flame dragon's host," Haruto said. "No time for that! That crazy lunatic's coming!"

"Die!" Fana shouted, coming towards them.

"Aaaaaaaargh!" Asta shouted in desperation.

Suddenly, they were surrounded by water.

"That's strange... human having the power of a dragon..." Yuna said.

"What are you people doing?!" Noelle demanded, coming towards them.

"Noelle!" Asta, Vanessa and Finral yelled.

"I've put out fire after fire in the forest, but there's no end to it!" Noelle told them. "It looks like I'll have to extinguish the source first!"

"If we stop Salamander then maybe Yoshiko and her brother will be alright..." Rin said.

"It isn't Salamander that's the source of their pain..." Hikaru said causing everyone to look at him. "It's something more sinister..."

"What do you mean?" Noelle asked.

"That...it isn't my place to tell you. You're going to have to ask Ryu. I'm sorry,"

"It doesn't matter right now! We'll beat answers out of him later!" Yuna said. "For now, we gotta deal with that crazy lunatic and her spirit!"

Vanessa then realised something. She quickly turned her head to Noelle.

"Noelle, you use water magic! Water can beat fire..." Vanessa said but died down and shrieked when she saw Salamander dig its claws within Noelle's magical barrier.
