*FILLER CHAPTER*

a/n: this chapter is going to be what had gone the last day of y/n's coma, enjoy :))

3rd person pov:

The room is quiet, Alejandro, Soap, Luke, and Ghost are gathered in the tv area.

    "Any news yet?" Soap asks.

"No." Ghost replies, staring out the window.

"She'll pull through." Soap adds. Ghost shakes his head.

"What she did was wrong. She deliberately disobeyed my orders." Ghost's voice fills the room, startling Soap.

"Lt, what she did shows she's a good soldier. If she had turned back we wouldn't have gotten the information." Soap's voice is relaxing, all he wants to do is keep everyone calm.

"She could die." Ghost growls.

"It should've been you." Luke's cold gaze on Ghost.

"Amigo, that's no way to speak to your teammate." Alejandro chimes in. Ghost is quiet, deep in thought.

"He is no teammate of mine." Luke spits through his teeth. Alejandro stands up.

"Luke, you need to-"

"No, he's right." Ghost admits, turning his gaze towards his shoes. "If I would have gone sooner it wouldn't have happened."

"If you didn't pull the damn trigger she would've never fallen." Luke has no kind feelings toward Ghost, and Ghost has no kind feelings toward Luke. What Luke had done on a previous mission was completely out of line, and Ghost will do everything in his power to remind Luke of that.

"She would've died!" Soap looks at Luke, his face filled with disbelief.

"She mine as well be dead. If she dies, that's on Ghost." Luke shouts as Ghost stands from his chair, walking out of the room. He wants to clear his head, so he's heading to the Medical center on base. But the sight of y/n's expression as she fell replays in his head. The way she looked at him, she was petrified yet so tranquil. He knew that she had saved them all from death, but he hated not being able to speak to her. Their conversations had been short, but the feeling she had given Ghost the first time they held eye contact... was a feeling he had never felt before. He craved feeling it again.

The closer he gets to her door, the more he wants to turn around. He had sat with her all night last night, and he planned to do the same tonight but he hated seeing her this way. It's been almost a week and she's still not awake. As he opens the door his eyes land on her almost lifeless body. He shuts the door and slowly walks over to the side of the bed. As much as he hated seeing her this way, she looked at peace. His eyes trace her body, looking from her waist to her cheeks. His eyes landed on her bruised, beat-up face. He still didn't know if that was due to her fall or the altercation with the guards. He pulled up a chair and sat next to her. He watched her chest lift up and down as she breathed. He couldn't help but replay Luke's words in his head. He hated letting his squad members down, but letting her take the brunt of it was eating him alive. He felt irresponsible, he felt as if he has failed as her Lieutenant.

Ghost pears over to the now open door, as a nurse walks in.

"She seems to be doing alright." She says holding a clipboard. Ghost stayed silent, looking back at y/n. "She your girlfriend?"

"No." he didn't feel like talking. He watches as the nurse checks y/n's labs.

"Well, miss l/n is doing great. Her mind just needs some extra time to recover." Her voice annoyed the shit out of Ghost, but he was glad to hear y/n was doing alright.

    "She gonna pull through?"

"If she keeps doing what she's doing, yes. She'll need to take at least two weeks off for physical therapy. The bullet had torn through some muscle and she'll have to build it back up." She pauses waiting for him to respond. "She seems like she has a great support team though, you and another gentleman have been visiting her." Ghost turned his head to her.

    "Who?"

"Who's been visiting?" The nurse asks wanting to confirm that was his question.

    "Yes."

"Well, there's you, and I can't exactly remember what the guy's name is, but he's taller than me, slim athletic build with brown hair and an accent." Ghost's stomach turned. He's seen the way Alejandro has looked at her, Soap had picked up on it as well.

"Are you okay?" The nurse asks. Ghost simply nods, and continues to think.

"Dr. Karr will be in soon, he'll be able to tell you more." She walks out, leaving Ghost alone with her. He lifted his hand to her cheek, he wanted to touch her, to feel her skin. He's never had such an urge to touch a woman. Gently, he traced his fingertips along her jawline, barely touching her. He quickly took his hand away as he heard footsteps nearing. The door opens and Luke lets himself in. He stands at the end of the bed, grabbing onto the bed frame. The air gets thicker as time goes by.

"What are you doing here?" Luke says finally breaking the silence. Ghost's gaze fumed with hatred.

"I'm her Lieutenant. I want to make sure she's safe." Which was true. Ghost hated knowing she was completely helpless and alone. Luke crosses his arms, giving Ghost a smug look.

"Don't get any ideas Ghost." Ghost wanted to rip his face off, but before he could do anything, Alejandro and Soap walk in.

"Hey Lt." Soap says smiling.

"We thought it'd be a good idea to stop by." Alejandro says looking at Luke. Ghost sits there staring at y/n while the guys talk about random shit. They're all interrupted by the doctor knocking on the door.

"Hey gentlemen, I'm Doctor Karr. I've been the main doctor treating her. y/n's doing great."

"Do you know when she'll wake up?" Soap asks.

"We're hoping soon, a couple of the nurses saw her move her fingers around."

"That's great!" Soap's once worried voice was now filled with joy. As the doctor explains what y/n's injuries are, he finishes by suggesting someone stay with her for her healing process. Once the doctor leaves, the guys stand there looking at each other.

"I'll do it." Luke breaks the silence.

"Negative." Ghost snaps.

"You're ridiculous," Luke says irritated.

"I'm her Lieutenant." Ghost growls.

"Maybe now isn't the time to talk about it." Alejandro soothingly says.

"I'm her best friend. Let me take care of her." Luke says ignoring Alejandro's suggestion.

"Luke, please. It's difficult for all of us. We need to try to keep the peace between us. If it's a problem, talk to Price about it." Soap chimes in. They all sit there for a couple more minutes, just watching y/n, wishing she'd wake up. After a little while, Alejandro walks out, Soap soon following him sitting right outside the door. The tension between Ghost and Luke is heavy. Luke can sense Ghost staring at him from behind as he kneels down grabbing y/n's hand.

"y/n, you once asked me what I wanted most in this world. I said that I didn't know." Luke pauses as Ghost inhales deeply. "I lied. It's you. I want you to be safe. I want you to be healthy, and happy. So I am begging you, if you can hear me, please. Please wake up." Luke grabs y/n's hand tighter. "Wake up please." As soon as he said that her eyes opened.
