I quickly turn around to face the wall, knowing looking at Ghost's bare face is like a crime. I feel the raindrops sting as they hit the back of my neck. I don't know how to feel or what to do, so I stand in silence. I feel tears flood my eyes and I allow them to fall from my face, overwhelmed with emotions. Soon I feel a hand on my back and I see Ghost's figure to my right, looking at me.
"What's the matter, love?" He asks as he moves his hand up and down my back. I sniffle a bit.
"I'm so confused." I say to him, still not looking.
"y/n, I'm so sorry. I just, I don't know how to go about this kind of thing. I've never been in a relationship. I don't know how it works." He says in defeat, looking down to the ground. I don't know how to respond to this, so I decide to stay silent. I close my eyes, not wanting to disrespect him by looking without his permission. He stands up and I feel him pull my body from the wall and into his chest, holding me tightly.
"Teach me." He says as he holds my head with his right arm, while his left arm is wrapped around my waist. I give in and allow myself to melt into him. He feels so cozy, he makes me feel safe.
"Can I look at you?" I ask.
"Of course." He says releasing me from his grasp and he backs up a bit. I look up to his face, hesitantly. Knowing that this is Simon somehow makes him even more lovely.
"Simon, you are so beautiful." I say as I absorb his features, attempting to embed them into my brain. He stands there awkwardly, his head hung down while he kicks at a rock by his shoe.
"You're beautiful." He whispers and looks back up to me. I smile at him, and he smiles back, blushing.
"Come on, I want to show you something." He says as he stands up straight and places his left arm around my waist, guiding me forward.
"Where are we going?" I ask as we walk along a trail going into a wooded area.
"Some place I enjoy." He says. I look all around me as we go in deeper. I'm kind of scared of nature at night, I always feel like something is watching me. After what seems to be forever, he stops me and looks down to me.
"Hold on." He says. I look around us frightened, this is just what I need. I'm drunk and paranoid and now I'm going to die. I watch as he pushes a couple of bushes to the side and he motions for me to come. I do as I'm told hesitantly, but the fact that his hand is on my lower back calms me.
As I step through the bushes I see a beautiful small pond, with a tiny waterfall. There are rocks that almost form a wall protecting us from the outside world. I turn around to look at Simon.
"This place is beautiful." I say to him. He nods his head with a big smile on his face. He pushes past me, and without looking back, he grabs my hand, intertwining our fingers. He leads me to a large flat space that looks as if it's a big rock. He twirls me around, and I giggle. He places his left hand on my waist and holds my left hand with his right, stepping us from side to side.
"I thought you didn't dance?" I ask. He smiles again.
"If you like to dance, I better learn to like it myself." I feel butterflies start to build up in my tummy.
"We don't have any music." I chuckle.
"Nonsense. We have music, you just have to listen." I look at him puzzled. "The Earth makes its own music. The rain, the little stream, the leaves rustling in the wind." He trails off.
We continue to dance to the sound of the slowing rain. Pretty soon I start to shiver, cold from being wet. Simon notices and pulls me in, placing his chin on the top of my head.
