"You'll be alright, it's nothing." Ghost says as he checks my parachute. I turn to look at him as I cross my arms.
"I think you're more worried for my safety than I am Lieutenant." I say quietly teasing him. He places his hands on my shoulders and looks behind me to make sure no one is looking before he looks directly into my eyes.
"I just remember a very grumpy little miss this morning, saying she was afraid of heights." He raises an eyebrow at me.
"Let's go!" Price yells before I have time to object, and Ghost quickly acts as if he's checking me again. He then winks at me before he places his hand below my belly button. He then begins to walk to the helicopter and he slowly glides his hand across my body, sending chills through my body. I turn to follow him and I make eye contact with him as he starts to jog.
As I step into the helicopter my ear drums feel like they're going to explode. There are a total of six seats, three on one side, and three directly across. Given this is a smaller helicopter, it makes sense to as why it feels crowded. The guys allow me to pick my seat first. I choose a middle seat on the left side where Ghost quickly takes the seat to the left of me, and Soap takes the seat to the right of me. Alejandro sits across from me, Price to the left of him, and Rudy to the right. We all buckle up and put our headsets on.
"How is everyone today?" A Russian accent comes through the headset.
"We're good Nikolai, how about you?" Price asks him and I look at Ghost and furrow my eyebrows. Ghost looks down at me and points his head toward the pilot. I look over and see him looking at me with a smile. I've never met him before, so I get a bit nervous.
"And who's the new young lady?" Nikolai asks still looking at me, and I smile at him.
"Rain, but you can call me y/n!" I shout into the headset.
"That's a beautiful name! Everyone buckled up?" Once everyone responds to him he turns himself around and the helicopter begins to lift from the ground. My anxiety kicks in and it's almost as if Ghost sensed it because he was now rubbing my leg with his pinky. I think it's funny that he tries to hide whatever we have going on, especially because I know that Price knows.
I look across me to see Alejandro looking at me intently. Once our eyes meet he furrows his eyebrows and cocks his head a little as if he's asking if I'm alright. I nod my head and smile at him before he moves his eyes over to Ghost. Alejandro's gaze slowly inches toward Ghost's hand. I watch as Alejandro takes a deep breath in and Ghost places his hand around my thigh, and squeezes. I then look over at Ghost and see him glaring at Alejandro. Feeling the tension rise I look over at Price.
"Where's Keegan?" I ask.
"Yeah, I thought he was coming with us!" Soap shouts through the headset causing it to ring. We then all wince and groan at the sound and Soap looks at us in disbelief. "Well, my God. I didn't know I was SO annoying!" Soap says acting overly shocked.
"You screamed in the headset and that caused an awful ringing sound Soap!" I yell at him and he laughs.
"Whoops." He chuckles and shrugs his shoulders. I then look down at my leg to see Ghost is no longer holding onto it, and I frown a bit. I look up to Price again.
"Who's going first?" I ask wanting to prepare myself.
"I'll go first, then Alejandro, Rudy, you, Soap, and Ghost will be last." I take a deep breath in, a little disappointed Ghost and I won't have a chance to be alone before we jump.
Time passes quickly as I try to keep myself calm. I've only jumped a couple of times and it's been about a year since my last, so it's to be expected for me to be nervous. I close my eyes and focus on my breathing.
