a/n: sorry for the long wait, i've been so busy with work :(((
Third-person pov:
The next seven months were hard on Ghost, no one had heard from y/n and he was beginning to become worried. He had asked Price if he had any update on her return countless times, but Price would refused to fill him in. Luke had been sent to Shepard who would determine what to do with Luke. Ghost had often sat and wondered if Luke would somehow find her, but he knows that was just his mind wandering. Task force 141 had gotten a couple of leads on Hannish since she's been gone, but nothing that has led them to his exact location. Ghost would be lying if he said he wasn't counting the days till he'd be able to see her again, whenever that may be. He's debated on visiting her base to check in on her, but he would hate to show up and not have her there. Ghost didn't know why he wanted to find her. Could it be how welcoming she was? Or how soft she looked? Soap had often referred to y/n as the lamb, and Ghost as the lion. Ghost would act as if he thought it was stupid, but secretly he liked it. Y/n had often visited him in his dreams, managing to replace his recurring nightmares. She had full control over him and no one knew it, nor did Ghost know why.
Ghost's thoughts were interrupted by a knock on his bedroom door. He pushed himself up from his bed and walked to the door, opening it rather quickly, and being greeted by Price.
"Y/n is being transferred today. She'll be here later tonight." Price says. Ghost felt the left side of his lips raise, he was delighted and frankly relieved she will be returning.
"When will she get here?" Ghost asks trying to hide the obvious thrill in his voice.
"Within the next hour or so, she left early this morning." Price says with a smile. Ghost simply nods his head, Price taking that as the cue to leave. Ghost, leaving his door open, turns to grab a fresh pair of clothes. He didn't know why, but he wanted to look his best for her return. He grabbed everything he needed and headed toward the shared locker room of a bathroom. He locks the door, not wanting any of the guys to see him. He hadn't changed his mask in a while, and it seemed as if it was beginning to fuse to his face. He turned the shower on and placed his clothes on the countertop. He undressed and stepped under the water. He had a couple of new scars he had acquired from the last seven months. Although he knew he wasn't ugly, he felt as if they would make others see him as an ugly monster.
Once Ghost is dressed he makes his way to his bedroom, and he plans on changing his sheets. He'd never admit it, but he went through a slight depression faze from the moment she had left. His bitter feelings towards her not saying goodbye had been long gone, he understood her. After he got everything tidied up, he went outside and sat on the porch waiting for her. It felt like he had been waiting for hours before her driver's vehicle pulled up. Once the car stopped, he stood up, his stomach beginning to flip. He watched as the back door opened, and a women's figure he did not recognize stepped out of the vehicle. He squinted his eyes in confusion, this woman looked like y/n, but her hair was shorter and her frame had changed. She had put on about 15 pounds of muscle. She was toned and lean before, now she looks buff, and more defined. As she got closer he continues to study her, she now had a tattoo sleeve on her right arm, and a couple of more tattoos spread across her body. He was taken back, but also incredibly turned on. She looked badass. He smiled when he noticed she was wearing one of the tank tops he had bought her, and his eyes immediately shot down to her wrist. There it was, the bracelet he had gotten her months ago. He had such a warm feeling, a feeling of security. He looked back up to her face and saw two more scars, one on her cheek, and one on her forehead. They looked well healed, but he could tell that the wounds that had caused them were deep.
"Hello Simon." y/n said quickly walking past him.
"Hello, y/n." Ghost said back, watching her walk into the house, before deciding to follow her. He felt as if something was off, he could see she had physically changed but there was something deeper than that. He wanted to figure out what it was exactly. He followed her through the main floor, and up the stairs until she stopped at the top.
