"Our souls already know each other, Atti." I beg with my eyes for her to remember anything. "I've been here all along." I flatten my hand against her chest.
A single tear slides down her cheek and I swipe it away with the pad of my thumb. I'll kill them. I'll kill them all for doing this to her. To us.
"Then why can't I remember?" Her voice cracks.
"You will, baby." I pull her into my chest and stroke her hair. "I promise..." The last part is a mere whisper as I pray to every god not to make me a liar.
