Chapter Fifty-Seven

Third Person

"Pretty necklace" Adrien said glancing down at Anastasia's neck.

"Thank you, you're actually the one who gave it to me" Anastasia responded.

The two were in a little café a week after their conversation at Adrien's house, they were both free so Anastasia decided to message him.

"Really? I must have good taste" He laughed while looking at it again.

"What does it say?" He added.

Anastasia took it off and handed it to him. As he read she spoke up, "You gave me it for my sixteenth birthday, it was the day I realised I was in love with you" She didn't know why but she felt it was necessary to tell him that.

After hearing those words and reading what the necklace said Adrien's smile turned into a slight frown.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked, this is probably really hard for you"

Anastasia sighed, "It is, but it doesn't matter, not much we can do about it now"

"It does matter though, I can't imagine to have someone I love forget about me"

The word someone stung because Anastasia knew exactly who he was talking about.

Anastasia just shrugged her shoulders.

The next few weeks consisted of Anastasia doing shows, hanging out with her old friends when she had time including Charlie and seeing Adrien.

Today, Adrien was going to go to one of Anastasia's shows. Well not just him, she invited all her friends, for free, of course.

It was one of the last ones in she was going to have in Paris, but luckily enough she didn't have anywhere else to go after this so she decided to stay in Paris for a bit.

That's why she invited them, she didn't realise that one of the songs she was going to sing was one she wrote about Adrien about a two years ago.

Anastasia finally went onto stage and spotted her friends in the crowd of people near the front, she scanned her eyes over to where Adrien and was standing, and well let's just say he wasn't alone.

That must be Kagami, she thought to herself.

She took a deep breath in before starting.

After Anastasia finished her friends went backstage to meet up with her.

"That was so awesome!"

"You were so good Annie"

She smiled at her friends' kind words before turning to Adrien.

"That was pretty amazing" Adrien smiled.

"I have to agree with Adrien, you have a beautiful voice" Kagami added.

"Thank you, you must be Kagami?" Anastasia tried to keep the smile on her face.

"Yeah that's me, Adrien told me about you, well what he does know anyway" She said.

Anastasia's smile vanished at that.

"Kagami" Adrien warned.

"Sorry, that was inappropriate of me to say"

"It's fine." Anastasia replied through gritted teeth, Kagami definitely knew what she was doing while mentioning that.

"Should we go out somewhere? To celebrate the comeback of Anastasia Emerys" Alya smiled trying to raise the mood.

"You guys can, I'm gonna go, quite tired" Anastasia replied.

"Well it can't be a celebration without the guest of honour" Alya frowned.

"Maybe another time" Anastasia half smiled, and with that she left.

She got to her hotel room and cried, for the first time since she's been back.

She really tried to keep it together, she should be happy for Adrien, his life is perfect now. Nice friends, doesn't do what his father tells him to, a beautiful girlfriend. There was just nowhere to fit her in the picture, not anymore.
