Some memories fade with the help of time. Some stays forever on your mind never to leave you no matter what you do to rid of it. Sometimes those memories that hadn't left your mind can be useful. Making them the motivation to continue putting your right foot forward. There were also times that those memories haunt your dreams, giving you nightmares. Making you feel afraid to do something.

In Shimmer's perception, you just have you choose either you let those memories haunt you or make those as your ladder to go up.. And in her case, she chose the latter.

Having declined by her apprenticeship didn't make her the bitter one in life. In fact, it just made her strong and ready.

She had accepted it and moved on. She thought that the time wasn't for her. That the opportunity that slipped past her hands weren't really for her. So she worked hard. She had been working in the Suga Hotel and Casino for a year and a half now and she planned to stay working in this place for a long time not just to gain more experiences but at the same time cure her eyes by taking food that's good for the eyes. Food that were rich in Vitamin A slowly but surely. She can have an eye operation but it would mean that she have to use her savings which wasn't enough. Not even half of the approximate sum for the surgery.

Valerie was helping her in any way. She had been sending her every once or twice in a week to either house keeping which she would get most of her tips or kitchen duty which she had learned to cook cuisines under the watchful eyes of their Chef.

She also had the chance to get orders from the restaurant inside the hotel. Had the experience to attend at the bar giving drinks.

In short, she's flexible now.

But it doesn't mean that she would be flexible enough to talk and have a conversation with someone whom she was thinking the whole year after their first encounter. She had thought that she would never get the chance to meet him again. Embarrassingly, she had gone to the airport hoping to catch a glimpse of the man who she can't push aside and forget.

Those deep ocean blue eyes with gray streaks she can't get enough to think. She feels like she was drowning and floating at the same time. And it confused her.

And right now, those blue eyes of his was staring daringly at her making her squirm on her seat, face flushed. Not knowing what to say after Lucas and Valerie left them, she cleared her throat. Mentally noted that Valerie would pay for this later.

"Where do you want to go first, if I may ask?" she asked. Making conversation to at least kill the cold awkward air around them.

"Where do you think would be nice? I've no idea," He responded shrugging his shoulders a bit for emphasis.

"Well, what do you prefer? I mean, do you like hiking, mountain climbing, sky diving, sight-seeing.. I have this beautiful place in mind to go to," she stated. Now slightly comfortable of their topic.

"Anything or anywhere you think were nice and pretty, I don't mind," he replied making Shimmer smile a bit. "Do you like nature?" he added. He wanted to know her more.

"No. I love nature," she replied happily. "I don't know, but nature makes me relax and happy. I can't explain why and how though." she added thoughtfully. She had been a nature lover since she was a kid. She sometimes used to think that the grass on their backyard gives them fresh air and helps the temperature cool during the day when the sun was fully up.

"Glad to hear I wasn't the only one on this planet who loves nature." Zeke replied jokingly but was utterly serious, giving her a small smile. He liked to see her smile and see her face lit up when she talks about nature. It made him feel glad.
