Chaeryeong's POV

I was cleaning up dad's funeral, sweeping the floor and making sure there was no dust or sand around the place. A few people visited, some were my relatives, and some were probably my father's friends.

As I was doing my things, the outside suddenly got noisy, and I heard some random people shouting, and then the visitors were whispering things.

The guards also rushed out to the outside when they saw what was happening. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, walking out to see.

"Move aside, Mr Chu is here! Move!" a man in suit attire yelled as he opened up a lane that leads to me.

Out of nowhere, there were bodyguards coming and they stood in line, from the main entrance to where I was standing. Then a man appeared at the entrance.

I'm not sure if I know who this man is but I certainly have met him somewhere. He looks quite a bit familiar to me.

Seonju saw me when he was searching for where I was, and he panicked and ran towards me. "Miss Lee, why are you standing here? You shouldn't be he—"

"My deepest condolence! To Miss Lee Chaeryeong." the man said aloud and cackled.

I frowned as I recognized who this person is. One of my dad's competitive rivals. Why is he here?

Mr Chu walked towards me with an ugly smirk and stopped when reaching in front of me at a not-far distance. He lifted his hand, and held onto my chin with his thumb and forefinger as he said, "Still remember me, princess?"

"Hey, get your hands off of Miss Lee!" Seonju yelled, protecting me as he pushed the man's hand away and stood in front of me. I got scared.

"Oh relax, I'm not trying to do anything!" he laughed.

"I am just here to visit my old friend."

"You're just here to mess around. Leave." Seonju said.

"Oh come on, I just got here!" Mr Chu chuckled after.

"You're not welcome here, Mr Chu. Please leave." I spoke up.

"So you do remember me, I thought you forgot."

"Remember or not, it doesn't really matter. Please leave now or I might have to call the guards."

"I am here to visit Lee Hyun." he suddenly talked in a lower tone.

"I had said you are not welcomed here."

"...Rude." he glared and turned away to leave the place.

I let out a sigh of relief when all of them left. The visitors were gossiping about what just happened, and I noticed some may have left here already when Mr Chu was here. Maybe they thought it wasn't safe for them to stay any longer.

My heart was still beating fast since just now, I was still a bit scared, though I had the guts to speak up to that man telling him to leave.

As I was about to get back inside, I saw a person sitting on the bench from slightly afar, wearing whole black, and facing my direction.

The person has their legs crossed, right elbow on the armrest with face leaning on their palm, and another hand on knee.

I can't really identify if they are a he, or she, but they seem to be looking at me...

"Miss Lee?"

"H-Huh? Yes?"

"Why are you still standing here? Anything wrong?"

"O-Oh, um, everything's fine... Thanks for asking, Seonju." I reassured my butler with a small smile.

I turned back to the direction where the person I saw was, but they were gone. I don't see them anywhere around. I frowned.

"Seonju," I called. "Yes, Miss Lee?"

"I'm going out for a walk."

"Wait, you shouldn't be leaving alone now, Miss," he said.

"Just for a while."

"But Ms Choi said you can't. Plus, did you forget what just happened? People are aiming for you, it's too dangerous."

"I'll be alright, don't worry."

"But it's still not saf—"

"I'll be back in ten minutes." I cut him off and left immediately.

There were too many things weighing on my mind. My Father's sudden death was the most stressful thing I had to overcome. Also his company. I'm their only child of his. I have to take over his job and much more things.

All the responsibilities that came up to me all of a sudden made me have no idea what and where to start. It's a total mess.

Deep sighs escaped my mouth as I ran through the thoughts in my mind. I'm just here walking along the pathway not very far from where the funeral is.

I was walking slowly, admiring the flowers that bloomed beautifully, not until I felt someone walking behind me. I wasn't sure why my heart started beating fast again, but when I began walking, I heard light footsteps. When I stopped moving around, the footsteps stop too.

I pretended not to be aware and looked at the flowers, then I carefully took a slight glance from the side.

Oh crap.
