Jisu POV

"Hey Miss, can you hear me? Wake up."

I heard a voice that sounded like a man's. I'm not sure, I couldn't hear any voices clearly. I can feel my eyes slowly opening, and soon I see two people in front of me, squatting down, looking at me.

"Miss? You can hear me, right?" one of them asked me.

"Y-Yes..." I tried to reply. My throat felt so dry, and my body so weak I don't even have the strength to sit up. I squeezed my eyes tight for seconds before opening them again, this time my sight became better.

It was a female paramedic and a male police officer in front of me. I tried sitting up, but the lady pressed me down gently. "Don't move too much, Miss. We'll get you to the hospital soon. You need a body checkup so we can be sure you're fine."

I nodded and just wait for them to bring me into the ambulance.

What happened? Why is my body so sore and weak? I couldn't remember a thing, my head is pretty much aching and it was sickening. My eyes wandered over the place, it was a huge mess, bricks and stones everywhere and that's when I realized what I had forgotten about.

"Chaeryeong!" I shouted.

"Hey Miss, please stay calm."

"N-No, w-where is Chaeryeong??"

"Pardon?"

"Chaeryeong! L-Lee Chaeryeong!" my voice was still raised talking to them. My eyes were opened wide as I panicked.

"Miss, I want you to try to stay calm, okay? You're a witness of this incident so please, don't panic and tell us anything you know, good?" the male officer said.

The lady patted my back lightly to comfort me. My heart was pounding too fast, I had a very bad feeling about this.

"Miss, we didn't find any bodies relevant to Miss Lee's but for Mr Seonju..." the same man, Officer Park trailed off.

"W-What is it? What did you find??" my voice raised up once again. I just have this very bad feeling for both Chaeryeong and Seonju. I remembered everything that happened yesterday. That man pushed me and Seonju over the ground and he knocked me unconscious.

A doctor came to us. He looked very stressed and it just made my feelings go worse. "I'm sorry for the loss, Miss Jisu. Mr Seonju was shot to death and we couldn't—"

"What...?" a tear slipped out of my eye.

"T-Then what are you guys standing here? Save him! Go save him!! He can't just die like this! He can't—"

"Miss, we would do everything to help but it's too late, there's nothing we can do anymore, and we are very sorry about that. Please understand us." the doctor lowered his head as a bow after speaking.

"What about Chaeryeong then? Huh? W-where's she?" I faced the police officer and questioned him, trying not to stutter. The tears were rolling down my cheeks but I still tried holding them back, I don't want to make a messy scene here in the hospital.

"We'll do our best to locate her as soon as possible. I know you're very worried, and we are concerned about this incident too. The attackers are all found dead on the scene, we didn't get any clues. We are investigating now so please, be patient and have faith in us, Miss Jisu. Thank you."

"You must find her, Officer Park. You must..."

"We will. I'll have to excuse myself, for now, Miss. Rest well." the officer and I bowed to each other respectfully and he left with his crew.

After staying in the hospital for a while, I was sent back to my home. The moment I plopped myself on the couch, I cried out. The tears I had been holding back since earlier flushed out, making the cushion that I buried my face with soaked.

The police arrived at the scene around 20 minutes after the scene happened. They said the intruders were all found dead. So where could Chaeryeong be right now? It's possible for the men who made it alive in the fight to kidnap her, right?

God, please.

They must find Chaeryeong. She must return here alive and well. She has to be safe, I can't lose another anymore.
