the next morning, I wake up to the sound of Avery crying. I quickly get out of bed and leave the bedroom and go to find Avery.

I can hear her crying but I don't see her anywhere I when I walk into the living room.

I go into Avery's bedroom but she's not in there either. I go upstairs and go into Christopher's room but when I try opening the door it's locked.

I can hear Avery crying inside.

I groan before I use the side of my body to break kick in the door. the door breaks in and I see Christopher sitting on the bed.

I look to the other side of the room and see Avery tired up in the corner of her room.

"Ugh, Christopher!: I yell as I walk over to where Avery is on the floor. I untie the rope and take off the duck tape from her mouth.

"why are you doing this? get ready for school," I tell him picking up Avery who is still crying.

"I don't want to go to school," he says playing on his ipad.

"from now on you don't get to do anything you want, ever. go get ready for school," I say. I walk over to him as he's sat on the bed and take the ipad out of his hand.

"Dad!" he says as I leave the room with Avery.

"don't Dad me. as long as you keep doing this to your sister your not getting this back and you can say goodbye to doing anything fun ever again,"

I go into the kitchen and place Avery on the island.

"what do you want for breakfast, Hmm?" I ask cupping her face in my hands.

"I'm not hungry anymore," she cries.

"yes, you are," I say kissing her forehead.

I go around to the kitchen and start making the pancake mix.

"Dad, but it's not fair!" Christopher groans as he walks into the room.

"No, what's not fair is you always hurting or scaring your sister, she has done nothing to you. if you don't start leaving her alone you're going to be grounded for even longer!" I yell.

"I'm grounded?!" he yells.

"yes, you are. for the next few months," I say.

"ugh!!" he yells before he picks something up off the table.

"if you throw that I'm going to break your ipad," I say.

he groans before putting it back on the table and walks out of the kitchen.

"get ready for school!" I yell.

"No!" he yells back.

"fine, then you're going to school in your pajamas," I say.

I sigh. "chocolate chips or blueberries?" I ask Avery.

"chocolate chips," she sniffles wiping her eyes.

"chocolate chips it is," I say. I grab the bag of chocolate chips and open them and dump some into the bowl.

after I've made the pancakes I put some into a plate and place it in front of Avery as she sits at the table.

"aren't you going to eat?" she asks.

"of course, just a sec," I smile.

I grab my plate and sit down at the table with her.

after we eat I take the empty dishes into the sink and tell her to go get ready for school. I put some toast into the toaster for Christopher before I leave the kitchen and go into my bedroom to get changed.

I change into a pair of black pants and a light blue button up. I do my hair and leave my room to check on the kids.

I go into Avery's room and see her still getting changed. I go upstairs to check on Christopher and see him sitting on his bed doing nothing.

"Christopher, get dressed!" I raise my voice.

"I don't want to go to school," he says.

"I don't care what you want, what you want doesn't matter anymore. get dressed, I have work and you have school and I'm not leaving you alone,"

"take me to Grandmas," he says.

"No, she doesn't want to deal with your attitude and behavior either, she has her own things to do and you don't help, so get dressed!" I say.

"but-"

"Your Grandmother doesn't want you either! get dressed!" I yell.

he stays put. I go into his closet and grab a pair of clean clothes and toss them on his bed.

"get ready," I say before leaving his room and shutting the door.
