After trying to keep my hands from shaking after the third tear fell from my face I look up and take a deep breath which just made things worst because after I blinked my eyes a waterfall fell from them, I couldn't stop crying. The tears after a quick second became sobs and from that I kept crying for thirty minutes.

I just wanted to go home. But what home? Because the two bedrooms flat that I share with Taylor is not my home and that same three story house with a yellow fence back in Toronto can't be my home anymore. I'm stuck in the middle with no perspective or what so ever. Things were fine, Tay and I were managing our lives here in Los Angeles, I didn't think about Canada anymore, when I finally stopped crying myself to sleep this monster called Luke had to remind me of my past, he had to open my wounds and dig deeper, just now when I don't even have my mom to share my troubled mind with.

I hear someone calling my name, I swear if that devil with a lip ring come looking for me I'll go bat shit crazy on him. Forgive my bad language.

"Alaska?" It's a boys voice, but it's not Luke's. Its Ashton

He sees me sitting on the grass, holding my knees like my life depended on it.

"Oh honey" He looked at me with pity. The look I grew to be used to since it all fell apart back home.

"I'm fine" I lied and wiped some stubborn tears off my face "It's just hard being so far from home" Lies and more lies.

"I know, it was hard for me when we left Sidney." He sits next to me "I remember when I FaceTimed my family, Mom cried for minutes and my siblings were devastated. My brother actually asked if I would ever come back home" He looked to our view: palm trees and some weird silver monument, but the sky though, was perfect. "There's this think about Luke, 90% of the thing he says you just ignore okay?"

"He's a dick" I say trying to laugh

"Yes he is. Just don't let him get into your head" Ashton is so sweet, I wish I had him as a friend a year a go. "And whenever you're ready to share whatever goes on in your mind, just know I'm right here for you" he smiles and a little bit of the weight inside my chest goes away. "I know we just met but I want you to know that I can relate with missing home and I know how hard to deal with it is, okay?" If only my problems were just missing home, but it's way bigger than that.

"Thank you, for real Ashton" I try to smile without sharing more tears "Thank you"

"Let's get back there, Taylor is worried about you" He stands up and offers me his hand

I look hesitating to him.

"Luke's not there anymore" he says, which makes me very relieved "He left a bit after you did, I assumed he went after you to apologize but I think he's looking for some girl to hook up with" Ashton makes a funny face like he was saying 'what is wrong with him?'

"Well, he's one of a kind" I smile and stand up. "I think I'll just head home, have lunch and try to sleep a bit" hopefully he'll understand

"Sure, anything you need just call me. Here, give me your phone" I obey him and give him my phone, he types his number and give it back to me "whatever you need, call me"

He's so nice. I hope Taylor likes him and he likes her. She could really use a sweet boy right now, no more jerks.

"Thanks, see you later then"

"Hey, are you coming to the homecoming festival?" his eyes wait for the answer

"I think I will. I mean, Taylor will make me go anyways" I giggle and pick up my bag from the ground, I didn't even remember bringing it with me when I left.
