New Life

It had been 4 months to the events in D.C. and 3 months to when I joined the Avengers. I had heard a lot of stories about them when in HYDRA about them being cruel and dangerous to the world. The horrors they mentioned in their stories did no less in showing their absolute hatred for them. After Steve recovered, he and Nat asked me to join the team and when I say I was scared, I really was. But nonetheless, I gave it a try and to my surprise, I found them to be a bunch of softies with weird abilities. I met others too. Clint had welcomed me like I am a part of them, he's like a big brother but sometimes, he maybe be too snarky. No wonder why him and Nat get along so well to be honest, I actually find it cool for him to be able to bring down aliens with just bow and arrows. Bruce was an introvertish man, always in the lab but was totally the opposite as Hulk. It was AWESOME. Thor maybe a literal God but is an adorable and simple man. P.S. he loves his pop tarts. I tried eating them out of curiosity and he was literally about to throw Mjnolir at me. Tony was cold to me at first for three days but eventually grew to like me after I was able to fix his car. At HYDRA they taught me everything related to mechanics and machines. He always has me in his lab where he would teach me more about machines. We even worked on a suit together which he wore today at Sokovia.

We were in the quinjet as we waited to reach a HYDRA base in the cold mountains. The snow had engulfed the trees and the ground. Nat and Clint had to wear extra under shirts to keep them warm well, lucky for me, I had fire powers. My body's temperature cold be controlled. We landed away from the facility and discussed the plan of attack. "You sure this place is even alive? It's freezing out here." Nat said as she shivered. "I see 300 heat signatures so yes" Tony answered from his suit next to me. "Ana, you positive this ain't any refugee camp?" Steve asked me in his authoritative tone. "Yes Cap, this is where they usually do the experiments and lab work. This fortress is basically the most advanced HYDRA facility." I assured them all. "Alright Brucie, time to become Hulkie" Tony joked and Bruce changed into the green giant. To be honest Hulk doesn't really like me. During one of the previous missions, he nearly had me squashed under the truck he threw at me. I still try to be in my best terms along with him. I sat behind Steve on his motorbike and we commenced the start of the mission. Tony few over us and kept updating on the comms.

He was about to enter the base but got hit by some forcefield. "Shit" he said on the comms. "Language, we have a kid with us" Steve retorted as he dodged the bullets coming his way. "Hey!" I said in an offended tone as I throw fireballs on the agents attacking us. "Jarvis, what's the view upstairs?" he asked. "The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield. Strucker's technology is well beyond any other HYDRA base we've taken" the AI replied. "Told ya.", I said with a smirk. Thor and Nat said something on the comms but I didn't pay must attention as I was getting fired at by the agents surrounding us. I got up from my seat and started flying with my powers as I charged at them. Steve then threw his bike and said something. I heard Jarvis say, "Forceshield taken down successfully" and then I flew into the facility attacking every agent coming in my way. I saw the Iron Legion flying towards the city; the civilians were being a pain in the ass. They weren't fond of us and wanted to help HYDRA. Idiots. Even when the whole list of work of HYDRA was out in the open, they were still willing to help them. I shook away the thought and continued my way inside. I walked in sneakily without making a sound and killed the guards single handedly. I open the door to the intel room only to find Tony standing in there out of his suit staring into a clear space where the scepter had been kept. He looked a little pained. 

"Hey Stark?" no reply. "Tony?", I said as I shake his shoulders. He then snapped out of his trance and let out a shaky breath as he sat down on the floor. I turned off my comms knowing he wouldn't want others to know what happened to him. "Hey hey hey breathe, ok? What happened? You looked like you were entranced or something." I said him as I kneeled down to his level. "Its n-nothing. Maybe the scepter was messing with me. I- I don't know." he fumbled on his words. "Go cover the floor. I'll be back with the intel and scepter ok?" he said. I nodded knowing I shouldn't push him about it. "Just so you know the team didn't hear us. So you're safe" I say as I stand at the door. He gives a small smile and says, "Thanks, kiddo". With that I leave the room and turn on the comms again to hear Steve say, "Guys, I got Strucker". I make my way to the first level but get swept down on my back and see a slight blue-blur at the end of the hall. "What the hell was that?", I say to myself. "What's wrong Ana? Report." I hear Steve. "I think we got an enhanced zoomer over here" "You spot him?" "First level. I'm heading over to him" "Not today. We need some info on them." Steve said. "Them?" "There are two enhanced on the field. Head to Clint, he's been hit" "Alright Cap." I said and headed to where Clint was. 

I found Nat pressing on his wound as Clint made a pained face. I picked him up and headed to the jet while Natasha got Bruce. I laid him on the table. "Did I just have a princess moment? *gasps* No way, you were my Prince!" he joked to ease the pain. "At your service, m'lady" I play along as I bow to him. He laughs. Being around him, Nat and Steve was easy. Although they were all good to me I tried to distance myself from them knowing I didn't deserve it all. I had killed innocents. Clint seemed to read my thoughts. "Hey, don't think much about it. We're all happy to have you here with us." "But why? I've killed innocents. Even almost killed Fury and Nat." "Firstly, you only shot at her and Nick is alive. Secondly, look what you're doing. You're helping us get rid of HYDRA. I'm proud of you, kid. Don't ever doubt yourself." I smiled softly. "I'm not a kid." 'Shut up, you are. You're just 20" I then agree with him. Soon Nat comes in with Bruce and Thor while Steve comes with Tony. He hands the scepter to Bruce who keeps it in a metal suitcase and makes his way to the cockpit with Steve. 

Nat sits next to me and sighs deeply. "It was close call, Clint. You should've been careful." She was upset about him being hit. They really cared about each other. "Hey don't blame me! I wasn't expecting an enhanced to hurt me from behind." She just smiled at his response. "Ana had seen him too." Steve said from his seat. "There was a girl too." Tony said but he sounded pretty off. Maybe the girl did something? "I'll make Hill find about them" he said and walked away to make a call. I got up from my seat and headed to Bruce. "I hope I didn't hurt you this time." he said in a apologetic tone. "It was one time Bruce and I said its fine." "I don't know why he did that but I do tell him to warm up to you a bit." I smiled at that. He was trying to make an effort. Maybe Clint was right. "And that's good to know." He smiled too and then started tending to Clint's wound. I saw Nat look at him with a smile on her face. I think she has a thing for him. 

"It was great what you did with your magic, Little Mortal." Thor said with his booming voice. "Its not magic Thor, they're my powers." "You know, you should really meet with Freya." I gave him a quizzed look. "She is the Goddess of Fire." "That must be really cool" I said with excitement. He always told me about Asgard and its beauty. I was mesmerized by it. "It is. I met up with her on the day of my coronation until... my father banished me from Asgard." Oops, it turned sad quickly. "My apologies, I shouldn't have said that." "Oh no, don't be. But look at the bright side, you are no more banished now", I tried to uplift his mood. "Yes, that's true." He then smiled and sat next to Nat.  Steve then stood next to me. "Good job out there." he said. "It was nothing. I owe that to you all." "Ana, you don't owe us anything. You helped me end HYDRA and then this. You are a part of this team and we all like to have you here with us. If anything, you're the one helping us." "Thankyou, Steve. Really." He smiled and asked me to join in with the others. God, I was in love with this family.
