-ANASTASSIA POV-

I was woken up from my sleep by the sound of someone twisting and turning next to me. I slowly opened my eyes, being unable to adjust to the light yet. I squinted and then opened them completely only to find Bucky looking at me. It wasn't creepy, it was more of a dreamy look. He kept looking into my brown eyes while I drowned in the depth of his ocean blues. The distance between us was there but yet so little, I could clearly see the different hues of dark blue specs in his eyes. Each spec was unique and special, absence of even one of them would change the emotions he showed. His long lashes were perfect, his soft pink lips looked plush and smooth. The small stubble was perfect. He raised his hand and grazed over my cheek as he placed them softly as if they would break by his touch. He moved his thumb over my cheekbones and looked down at my face again. A warm feeling arose from within me as I let myself to melt into his touch. I smiled softly which he then mirrored and shut his eyes only for him to open them again as he smiled more showing the evident blood rushing into his  cheeks. He was gorgeous. "Slept well?" he asked with his soft yet raspy morning voice. I nodded softly. "Did you?" I asked him this time. "Yeah, I slept well." We both continued smiling. "Wanna have breakfast?" he asked in a soft voice. "Sure" I replied.

I quickly changed after he left the room and joined the others downstairs. To none of my surprise the atmosphere was still filled with tension. Steve didn't talk to Tony or the others at all and Sam kept back his snarky comments. Bucky and I had joined late which made Nat raise her eyebrows and Wanda matched the energy. God, I'd have to deal with them later. The breakfast went along in silence except for the noise of sipping of coffees and munching of the toasts and omlette. After the breakfast I headed to the gym and trained alone. I had been beating the crap out of the punching bag as I punched it mercilessly trying to forget the events of last night. I gave a final blow with a loud grunt making the bag flow across the room and let the sand fall out. "You wanna go easy on it", I heard a male voice say. I turned around and saw Sam at the door. "Sorry I didn't realize the time-" "You were thinking of last night weren't you?" I looked down in silence. "Listen we don't give a shit about what that bitch had to say. She was just jealous of your and Steve's friendship-" "But she wasn't wrong", I said in a low voice. "What do you mean?" Sam asked me with caution. "I am so sorry, I should've told you all about this." I said as I looked up to see my bruised knuckles. It was as if I almost deserved it. "You don't have to tell us. We all understand that. But know that we'll always trust you no matter what." I nodded slowly as I looked up to see him. He could clearly see the tears brimming up at my eyeline.

"But now, I'm boutta kick yo' ass!" he said excitedly. It got me chuckling softly but genuinely. I removed my jacket and stood in front of him in a sports bra and gym shorts. Sam gave me a wolf whistle, just to tease me. The man knew how to get me laughing. We started training and soon enough I beat him in every fight. I pulled his arm as I climbed from above his back and tackle him down in a locked chokehold. He tapped on my arm repeatedly and I let him go. "You aren't even sweating.... What the hell!" he shouted as he panted. "I bet yo' ass" I mimicked him. I put out my hand for him to get up which he gladly accepts. "I think it's enough for your sweaty ass. Take rest and recover cuz' I'm gonna beat ya tomorrow" I say before swaying my left foot from  under his legs and making him fall on his butt hard. I run as fast as I can. "Yo' mean!" I heard him yell from the the training room.

I was looking behind as ran forward and bumped into a muscular chest. I immediately closed my eyes to face the impact on my head hard. I was about to fall backward until I felt a strong pair of arms holding me by my waist to get me stand still. I opened my eyes and saw Steve in front of me. "Whoa slow down there!" he said. "Oh, it's you." "Sorry I wasn't looking-" "Nah nah that's fine. Don't worry. Be happy it wasn't a wall you ran into, would've looked ugly with a nasty broken nose." I gasped and playfully hit him on the arm and we both laughed. "I see you were running" he spoke first. "Yea well, Sam would've killed me for winning all the matches against him." "I would pay to watch that." "Ah but he won't like it, would he?" I said as I raised my eyebrow. He chuckled and looked into my eyes. He later detached his arms from my waist nervously which I hadn't realized were still there. 'That's new', I thought. I felt guilty for wanting him to keep his hands for a little longer, the sudden loss of them making my sensitive skin shiver. "I um wanted to talk about last night. I am sorry about whatever Sharon said. I didn't know she would pull of such a thing and accuse you so wrongly." "Steve, she was in love  and I took away the man she had loved then. If I had known, I would've never gone for Miguel" I said guiltily.

"You had no idea about her feelings for Miguel. If anything she should've moved on if she had wanted a serious relationship with me. Clearly, she wasn't over him. She dated me to get back at you, which was very low of her. *sighs* And I thought she was really into me", he said the last sentence in a hushed tone. "Come on, Steve. You didn't know it either-" I try convincing as I hold his hand. "But I should've known. Anyways, I broke off things with her", he said in a gloomy tone. "If anything, it was her fault she wasn't good enough for you. You deserve the best girl to be with who understands you and makes you feel special. The one you see yourself with. Sharon was a phase. It's good that things happened before you both could've gotten any serious. Everything happens for the best." He nodded in agreement. "I guess so. Thanks for the wise words." "Anytime. Well I should get going, I have to check in with my therapist in two hours." "Wanna go for a run?" he suggested. "I am done with my workout for today. Besides I have an extra exercise for you" I said in a mischievous tone. "Oh yea?" "Sam might need a lift to his room. FYI he's a thick ass bitch", I add with a wink. "HEY!" I heard Sam complaining from a distance. "Language, sweetheart" the blond man reminded. We both chuckled as we hugged eachother lightly and he gave me a soft kiss on my forehead. I took my cue and left running from the hallway.

I ran till I reached my room and locked it behind me. I got rid of my sweaty gym bra and shorts and stood under the shower to rinse off the sticky sweat from over my body. I rubbed the shower-gel over my body starting from my back to my neck then my chest and to my waist. Right where Steve had held me. It was unfamiliar feeling towards him. A hint of warmth and fuzziness arose when I thought of him holding me. He always looked in the eye when talking to me but today was way different. Those familiar eyes were shielding something, some feeling which I haven't felt in a long time. 'Sweetheart' his words rung around inside my head. Why'd he call me that? A word so innocently said but was still affecting me. The forehead kiss, did it mean something? Steve was never the guy to give forehead kisses if anything, he's a cuddle bear with deathly need for hugs. Was it possible for me to feel that way for him? Were there any feelings budding up in me for him?
