-NAT POV-
I was just walking to Ana's room to check if she had left for her dinner with Bucky when I saw Steve before me, standing in the corner of the hallway looking at Ana and Barnes. Was he stalking them? I waited for the two to leave and then approached Steve. "What the hell, Rogers! Were you seriously stalking them right now?" I yelled at him. "I wasn't stalking them. I just didn't want to interrupt them both from their moment." he said defensively. "So you aren't planning on to keep on with your ignoring Ana charade anymore?" I asked him heavy suspicion. "I'm leaving", he said with a huff and turned around but I stopped him by holding his right hand quickly. "Why are you ignoring her? You know she's hurt because of it right?" I asked him. "She said some hurtful things to me, Natasha. I am still hurt." he said with a heavy sigh. He was acting all nervous and unconvincing. "You aren't Steve Rogers cause he would never stay angry at his real best friends even if they try to kill you." He just looked down before saying, "I don't know what you are trying to make sense out of here, Natasha. Let me go." "Why are you really doing this to her?" I squinted my eyes at him to look for any falter in his facade and then it clicked me. "Oh my god, you like her! You like Ana, don't you?" I asked him quickly. "It doesn't matter now, Natasha. She is on a date with Bucky so let me be on my own." he said and then roughly pulled his arm out of my grip.
He quickly walked away into his room while I was left on my feet in the hallway alone. He was ignoring her cause he liked her. This wasn't good. This could either make things worse if revealed at wrong time or not allow anything meant to happen to happen if revealed now. This was messy. Oh Rogers, you've made a mess now.
-ANASTASSIA POV-
It was a cold evening as we both walked on the sidewalk to head to the diner. We didn't talk much but the silence was sweet. A lot of emotions were being radiated under the lamplights of the streets. New York was the city that never slept but there was always calmness around. People were returning home with their partners, children, parents and friends. There was a collective feeling of relaxation in the minds around us both. After a ten minute walk we reached the place, Becky's Diner. It was a retro looking place but was well kept from the 70s. New York may have developed in the last few decades but some of its parts were left untouched that showed it's ethnicity and origins. We entered through the glass doors and were greeted by the checkered tile flooring and fresh red leather seats next to the windows. Bucky and I took our seats and he looked around in awe. "70s were like this apparently. I love it though." I said. "Its refreshing but... 40s were still better." he replied. "Obviously you'll say that!" I exclaimed and we both laughed.
Just then a middle aged woman stood next to our table with a notepad in hand. "Hello dear, welcome to Becky's Diner. What would you two like to have?" the woman said without looking away from her notepad. She then put the notepad in her pocket and then saw me. "Ana! How are you baby?" she spoke in surprise. "Hey Jen, I'm great. How's the business running?" I asked her knowing the woman so well. "Its doing good. How are the girls? You didn't bring them today- oh. I see, you brought a gentleman here." she said as she looked at Bucky now. "I'm Jennifer, but call me Jen. Are you her boyfriend?" she asked him. Jen never had a filter but she was sweet and always good to me and the girls. "Jen! He's a friend. This is Bucky." I said as I introduced him to her. "Sure you'll call him a friend now." she said with a teasing tone. "Alright jokes over. What would you and this beautiful gentleman like to have?" she said as she now took out her notepad and pen and scribbled down our orders. "Will be back in 15." she said with a sweet smile and left.
"Is she always that talkative?" Bucky asked with a chuckle. "Yep. She loves that and me." I said with a cheeky smile. "So I see you come here regularly?" "I come here after my therapy sessions. It's a good environment and food is just great. Also Jen loves it when I share some talk with her." Bucky nodded in understanding. We talked a bit more and were then served our milkshakes and food. We couldn't just stop talking throughout the dinner. There was so much shared and yet so much left. But most importantly, Bucky felt so comfortable talking about his time in the 40s along with Steve and about his family. It was as if he was remembering stuff from his days throughout the evening.
There was a cold breeze that swept across our bodies as we now walked together on the streets. Having entered the secluded street of near the Compound, we shared many jokes along the quiet and long way. Bucky seemed to shiver a bit due to the increasing cold even though he wore a jacket. I then walked a little close with him as I radiated a little heat from my body by using my heightened metabolism and powers. He became visibly relaxed.
-BUCKY POV-
We were walking on the cold little town street when suddenly it became warm around me. It was a dark sky and I could feel the wind blowing but there certainly warmth around us both. I looked on my right and saw Natsya's veins showing a tinge of orange on her face and hands. She was using her powers to give us both heat as we now walked closer. I could see the small details on the side of her face. Her side profile was perfect. Her cheekbones looked defined yet soft and plump. They were slightly red but they looked cute. Her lips were full heart with perfect tinge of slight red in them naturally. Her eyes were like doe's. They were the most entrancing feature on her. I could allow myself to get lost in those golden honey like brown eyes. Her thick and naturally upturned lashes were a story of their own.
Such a natural and beautiful looking woman was my close friend. I couldn't believe it. Why was she just my friend? Could we become something more? I'd always find himself wondering about that whenever I'd think about her. Did I want her to be more than just a friend? Yes. Will she ever like me like that? Maybe. Was I willing to risk it? I very much wanted to but the thought of losing her in general was scary enough for me to drop the thought of her. I had wanted so many answers to my questions from her. Why did I always sleep to her as my thought? Why was she the sole reason why I agreed to come to the Avengers? Why was she the only person I talked about in therapy? Why was she so important to me? Why was she running my heart and mind crazy whenever she'd show up in a crowded room? Why was I falling for her so hard and so mindlessly everyday? Is this love? Yes, it is.
A/N: Bucky has realized he loves Anastassia but..... looks like he got a competition is building up. Steve likes her too! *le gasp* Will he come in between of my two precious lovely babies? No hate to Steve though, he's a smol bean except for the 'end of the line' shit. He's a literal human pup and I couldn't love him any less but Bucky is a literal kitty and who doesn't love a grumpy and deadly cute ass kitty cat more? I'm scared of cats n dogs both but Steve and Bucky are acceptable cute lil animals I'm willing to love. Unrelated fun fact-- My aunt has a Siberian husky and my other cousin has a golden retriever. Both are loveliess *kisses to both* <33 Also, I've recovered from my sick health and discharged today morning and writing this chapter is the first thing I decided to do.
