The walk was mostly silent, and the two slowly grew more tired from walking. The sun had already set and luckily, Nene knew the path home by heart, otherwise they would have had a problem.
She stifled a yawn and stretched her arms above her head, pausing for a quick moment. Amane stopped too, a little ahead of her.
"Tired?" He asked. She merely nodded in response. "We could take a break, if you'd like."
Nene thought for a moment, but shook her head no. "It's already lightly snowing, the farther into the night the colder it will get, and I just wanna get home quickly."
Amane understood and continued walking ahead, leaving Nene a few steps behind.
"So, um, how did you and Aoi meet?" Nene caught up with Amane.
"We met because she owns that little bakery, and I go there quite often."
Nene giggled. "Do you like sweets?"
Amane's cheeks seemed to flush, but Nene could hardly tell in the dark lighting. "W-well, I mean, I suppose I like donuts the most, but sweets and candies are okay as well.."
"Okay! I'll remember that," Nene smiled, keeping a list of presents she would get each of her friends for Christmas. She gasped aloud, alarming Amane. Speaking of Christmas!
'screw thanksgiving,' she thought, 'i need to put up christmas decorations!'
"Um, is everything alright?" Amane wondered, since she was walking along the dark path with a wide smile.
"Huh? Oh, yes. Thank you for asking. Say, what's your opinions on Christmas?" She asked.
"Huh? Well, I guess I prefer Halloween, but Christmas is my second favorite."
"Hmph, well I'll make sure to make this Christmas the best holiday you've ever experienced!" Determination flared in her eyes and she pumped her fists lightly.
"Hah, okay then.." Amane chuckled at the way she got so excited over small things, he thought it was cute.
With their newfound comfortability within each other (and perhaps the fact that they were both very tired and cold,) the walk home was ten times more enjoyable, with them speaking the whole way home.
Finally, after a very long time of walking, (though it did feel significantly shorter to the two,) they had arrived in the clearing of Nenes house, and she sighed in relief.
"Oh, sweet lord of hamster's and bunnies, I have never been so glad to see my house before."
Amane chose to ignore her words of prayer. "Um wait..how am I supposed to go home..?"
Slowly, Amane and Nene turned to face each other. "I.. don't know the way back."
They had clearly not thought this through.

Amane ending up staying in Nene's guest room, the both of their faces still burning hot at the thought of each other sleeping only separated by one single thin wall. Luckily, that didn't last too long, as both of them had fallen asleep minutes after laying down.
Nene waking up the next morning to the smell of bacon sizzling downstairs was peaceful for a moment, but that quickly turned into fear thinking that someone had broken in, which quickly turned into even more fear when she realized she had walked downstairs in a only a nightgown to see a boy standing in her kitchen, staring at her with a slightly red face.
"I...- KYAA!" She squealed and ran back upstairs, leaving Amane dumbfounded, staring at the spot she was standing in.
He snapped his eyes away from that area and back to the bacon, which had almost burned. A few minutes later, when he had put the bacon on a plate and found a glass in her pantry for some juice, Nene came back downstairs, this time fully dressed, and sat down, both avoiding the others eye contact.
