The next morning , Aoi and Nene were busy taking down all the Halloween decorations and replacing them with fall wreaths and pine cones. Why? Because Aoi was the type of person to take down decorations the day after the event and put up the nexts immediately.

Nene adjusted a orange and yellow wreath on the door. "I feel like we just put up Halloween decorations yesterday," she said while still facing the door.

"I mean, it was only two days ago, so I guess that's my fault for not doing it sooner," Aoi giggled.

Nene shivered and pulled her puffy pink coat tighter around her body. "It's way too early to be outside already,." she grumbled. Normally, she would be at her own house right now, maybe making tea or petting her pet cat. But, she decided to stay extra long this trip. One, because she and Aoi had to eat all of the Halloween candy they got, and Two, because she actually made a group of friends and wanted to spend time with them.

"Would you like some tea to warm you up?" Aoi smiled and headed towards the door, giving up on the decorations and deciding to go back later.

Nene nodded vigorously and hurried inside, trying to warm her hands as well as she could. While Aoi started to brew the tea, Nene stuck up a conversation.

"So, I haven't seen your mom around much, is she doing better?"

"Oh! Yes, thank you for asking! She's doing a lot better now, recently she's been out in the town with her other mom friends." Aoi giggled and Nene sighed in relief, she was glad her friends mother wasn't sick anymore.

Just as she was about to open her mouth to speak again, a loud banging on the door interrupted her and she jumped from her seat, alarmed. Aoi rushed over, expecting it to be something important.

Instead, Tsukasa bursted into the house with Kou on his trail.

"I'm so sorry! I couldn't keep up, I really don't know how he runs so fast." Kou panted with his hands on his knees, bent over. "I told him we just hung out yesterday, and you guys probably wanted a break, but," he stopped to breathe in deeply, "he just wouldn't listen."

"Well, we're all friends now, and friends hang out all the time, so we have to hang out today or we aren't friends at all!" Tsukasa defended himself.

"You could have at least waited for Amane to wake up and get ready before sprinting out the door. It's too cold to run outside anyways." Kou responded, but Tsukasa wasn't listening anymore. He was more interested in the pet fish Aoi had on her bookshelf which he hadn't noticed the day prior.

"What's its name?" He asked Aoi.

Aoi giggled. "Nene! I named it after her~"

"Mmm.." he mumbled. "Looks tasty.." Kou pulled him away from the fish.

Amane walked into the house, looking annoyed.

"Did you really have to leave me? You could have at least said you were leaving so I wasn't super freaked out when I woke up and no one was home."

"Well, I wanted to see Nene and Aoi-Chan!" Tsukasa blew a raspberry at his brother and went to hide behind Nene when he started chasing him.

"Still a jerk move to do!" Amane tried to get around Nene, but Tsukasa placed his hands on her shoulders and spun her to face Amane, protecting himself from his grasp.

"It's Kou's fault for not stopping me~~! Be mad at him!" Tsukasa giggled, enjoying the game.

Eventually, Amane gave up and apologized to Aoi for them bursting into her house so early. She said it was okay and her friends were welcome whenever.

Nene gasped and clasped her hands together.

"How would you all like to dump all of our candy out and trade it? And then eat it all in one sitting and regret it after?" She closed her eyes and giggled. "Oh, also, where's Mitsuba-Kun?" She asked Kou.

"He's asleep, didn't want to hang out today." He answered her. "But yeah, I like that idea! Come on, you two, let's go get our candy and meet up back here soon!"

After the three boys had left to collect their candy bags from the previous night, Nene and Aoi were once again, alone in the living room.

"I remember we used to do this all the time as kids," Aoi noticed. "I wonder where all the time went.."

Nene remembered the first Halloween they spent together, Aoi's mother and her father taking them around the town trick or treating, and after that they spent the rest of the night trading and sorting their candy and watching horror movies. They weren't real horror movies, since they were too young, but it still creeped them out nonetheless.

"Yeah, I remember that." Nene smiled, lost in the happy memories.

After the boys had returned, they had a few piles of candy , being sorted into these piles:

Chocolates; (KitKats, Snickers, MilkyWays, and miscellaneous)
Sour candy; (Sour Patch Kids, War Heads, and Airheads)
Gummies/gum, and other things that couldn't be sorted into a category.

"I really like caramel candies, so if anyone wants to give me those..." Nene giggled.

"You can have my Milky ways," Amane quickly pushed a pile over towards her.

"N-no! It's fine, I was just joking.." Nene panicked and tried to give them back, not wanting to seem like a jerk.

"No it's fine, I don't really like caramel anyways."

"But..-" Amane placed them in her pile and sat back down at his original seat, not giving her a chance to respond.

"Ah, w-well thank you.."

So they spent the rest of the day trading and eating candy, failing to notice the snow falling gently outside the window. When it was time for the others to leave, the snow had already piled up about 3 inches, give or take.

"H..how am I supposed to go home?" Nene was internally panicking about potentially being snowed in for the entirety of winter. "I don't wanna have to walk home alone, and in the dark.."

Amane looked from her to Aoi, who also looked just as freaked out as Nene.

"I would walk you, but I can't leave my mom alone.." Aoi fidgeted with her shirt hem and shuffled her feet.

"I have to get home by tomorrow, or all my food might spoil, and my cat.." Nene was seriously just considering sprinting home through the woods and hoping for the best.

"I..I can walk you home."

Nene swiveled her head to look at Amane at the speed of light. "W-what?!" Blush was beginning to form on the both their faces, Nene's because of the suggestion, and Amane's because of the fact he spoke without thinking again.

"I mean,- um, I didn't mean it like that I'm sorry and- uh, well I mean I can still walk you home but like I didn't mean it like that and-" he stopped himself when he realized he was rambling again.

"It's.. okay. Thank you," Nene had her head hung down in embarrassment. "I didn't bring too much stuff, so I think I can just take my basket and go..now.. unless you wanted to leave later?"

"Um, no. It's fine we can go now.." Amane could already feel how awkward it would be on the walk to her house, but would prefer the awkward silence over Nene walking home alone and being unsafe.

Tsukasa and Kou had already left to their own houses, so when they departed from Aoi's house and set off into the woods they were already walking completely alone.
