Eli slowly woke up; he had fallen asleep in one of the police station's stiff lobby chairs. Filing the report had taken all night. He was awoken by Ruby poking his cheek with her sharp fingernails. She was stretched out in the chair beside him.
"How long have you been awake?" he asked her.
"A while now, I've just kind of been staring at your face, you're cute when you're asleep."
Eli blushed and turned his head to look around the room. "Where's everyone else?"
"Well, Johnny is still asleep in that spare cell, and Lucy is with him. Jean is sitting on the steps outside. And the policewoman went to get a bigger vehicle. She won't let me try to teleport us again, after I told her what happened. That, and power usage is illegal here, no matter the circumstance."
"How much longer are we stuck here?"
"The policewoman said she'd have us back to school by tomorrow morning, apparently it's pretty far."
Eli stood up and stretched. "Lovely. I hope no one has noticed us gone."

Johnny slowly woke up; he had been placed in the small bed of an unused cell. He awoke to find Lucy staring at him. He stared back.
"Good morning, sleepyhead." Lucy said. "Or maybe it's evening, there isn't any windows back here."
"We still trapped here?" Johnny asked.
"That's what's on your mind? We were attacked, Zen was murdered, and you and Ruby passed out. And that's what's on your mind?"
"It all worked out, didn't it? And Zen said something about being okay. Sorry for being optimistic."
"Don't apologize, your optimism is your best quality."
"And here I thought it was my drop-dead beauty."
Lucy let out a pity laugh. "Can I tell you a secret?"
"What?"
"I've never had a boyfriend before."
"Me neither. A girlfriend, I mean I've never had a girlfriend. ImeanIobviouslyneverhadaboyfriendeitheri'mnotintoboyssoIobvious-."
Lucy put her finger to his mouth. "I've never had a boyfriend, but I kind of want one."
Johnny blushed, he didn't know what to do.
"Just nod if you want that too."
Johnny, too embarrassed to move anything else, just barely managed to nod his head. In response, Lucy moved her finger from his lips and replaced it with her lips. And this time, Johnny was the one who fainted.
