Mr. Sam stood outside the old door that led to the guidance counselor's room. He stood there and contemplated whether or not he should actually go in when the door opened from the inside. He locked eyes with Madam Eden.  He looked down to see that Madam Eden had wooden hands and arms.

"H-how?" Mr. Sam mumbled.

"The trees gifted them to me." She said in a calm and cheery tone. "Seems we're both changing." She looked at his head. "I like it." There were so many things he wanted to say to her. In truth, he had been avoiding her ever since he started working here. But seeing her now, talking to him, not shunning him for leaving in the middle of the night, he picked up her hands as his eyes started to tear up. "The great thing about these hands." Madam Eden said, pulling them away from his. "I can embrace you again." She quickly wrapped her arms around his back, pushing him into her.

"Eve." He whispered. "I'm sorry."

"Stop!" She demanded, still in a calm and cheery tone. "You're here now, that's all that matters. Let's be a family again." Mr. Sam hugged her back. They had never gotten divorced. After Double disappeared and Sarah was murdered, Mr. Sam merely ran away in the middle of the night. He couldn't burden her with his troubles anymore. She knew where he was, working at the orphanage, but she never went there. She simply waited for him to return.

"Now." Mr. Sam thought. "Whatever troubles come; we face them as a family."
