It was lights out, and Yin had just crawled into bed, taking one last look at her sister, Joy, who was in the bed across from her.
"Goodnight, sister." Yin and Joy said in unison. And as Yin's head hit her pillow, everything went black. Yin quickly sat up and looked around. Turning, she saw her brother, Apathy, realizing that he must have brought her to his domain, the Void.
"Hey, sister." Apathy said. "Let's talk." Yin stood up so she was face to face with him. "Something bad is about to happen. I told a friend this, and now I'm telling you. The worlds' gonna change soon." He said.
"And how do you know this?" Yin asked.
"I see many things, just because someone's not staring into the Void doesn't mean the Void isn't staring at them."
"And I assume you want me to intervene?"
"Wrong! I want you to be far away from it, to keep you safe, to keep Joy safe. Something bad is happening to someone at the school right now, so someone else at the school is probably gonna do something drastic, a good friend of mine's friend may or may not ask you for help. just. Say. No." He clapped his hand in Yin's face, and she woke up back in her bed, it noticeably being later at night. She heard a crash and looked to her right to see that the noise had startled Joy awake.
"What was that?" Joy asked with both curiosity and fear.
"Whatever it was." Yin quickly responded. "The teachers can handle it."
"You're right." Joy said, laying her head back in her pillow. "Goodnight, sister." She said with a smile.
"Goodnight, sister." Yin said, smiling back.
