I. We're Roommates!

   Chapter 1,
    We're Roommates!

  " Wrong, I don't fall in love with everyone I see, I fall in love with people who give me the perfect amount of attention and make me feel special. That just so happens to be everyone. "

~ Deb's POV ~

   It's my first day of college, how exciting is this? Not only did I get accepted to my dream school, but I get to go to the same school as my best friend and our friends. I do plan on staying focused on my grades, but that doesn't mean I am going to let my love life shrivel up like a raisin. The college was pretty big but if I took the weekend off to check where my classes all are.

  As I grabbed my boxes and suitcases out of my trunk and set them on the ground, I took notice of the surroundings, there were many other kids my age who were also settling in or greeting their friends. Which reminded me that I needed to go say hi to my friends right after I settled in, ignoring the fact that I didn't have a ton of friends, I had the right amount where I would never feel left out. 

  Taking my things to my dorm by myself was enough work out for one day, or week, possibly a month, maybe even a whole year. I took out my key once I got to the correct dorm and unlocked the front door, the dorm was empty which either meant that I didn't have a roommate or i was the first to arrive. I decided to unpack my things before making a note on what I needed to buy with and/or without my roommate.

   I was in the middle of taking out my romance books when the front door unlocked and sprung open, I looked to see who it is and my heart practically leaped outside of my chest. Ophelia rolled in her suitcases before bringing in her bags, I was pretty happy to know that I'd be living with my best friend. 

   "Ophie, Hi!"

 I chirped before walking over to her, she looked at me before throwing her head back and groaning.

  "I'm switching dorms."

Ophelia remarked, I only rolled my eyes playfully before pulling her into a hug.

 I helped her bring her bags into the middle of the living room before walking to the room that I had originally chosen, my room was the color of a nice periwinkle blue. I had a twin sized mattress and a night stand on either side, needless to say that my room was comfortable.

  It wasn't as small as I thought it would be, it was spacious and I liked having my space, I had a dresser and a vanity which was all I really need. I was going to go to the mall, home Depot and possibly Walmart to fix my room up the way I liked. I was pretty glad to be sharing a room with my best friend, this way I don't have to feel awkward getting to know someone else, not that I don't like meeting new people.

  "I was wondering if you wanted to come with me to this cute coffee shop, I saw it around here and wanted to check what they have. Other than coffee."

  I walked out of my room, inviting Ophelia, she only looked at me though before scoffing and shaking her head.

  "Deb, you fall in love with everyone who breathes near you, I am not going to a coffee shop with you."

  Ophelia joked, I looked at her with an offended expression before walking over to her.

 " Wrong, I don't fall in love with everyone I see, I fall in love with people who give me the perfect amount of attention and make me feel special. That just so happens to be everyone. " 

  I defended myself, even though it wasn't a great comeback, I thought that it was good enough to be used in this situation.

  Ophelia only laughed and rolled her eyes playfully before she grabbed the dorm key, walking to the front door, waiting for me. I loved our banter, except anyone who didn't know us thought we were being complete jerks to each other and just despised one another. But our friendship and inside jokes were supposed to be just for us anyways, so we never let anyone's words or thoughts get to us.
