" For the first time in a million years, am I going to be witnessing my best friend fight? I'll go get my camera, I need to record this moment. "

~ Deb's POV ~

The study group ended at around four in the afternoon, I was getting hungry so I was happy to be leaving the cafe. I took my phone out of my pocket and began to order some food, I was in the mood for chicken, so I ordered some Chick-fil-A. Ophelia was silent the whole walk home which made me a little concerned.

As we arrived on campus, Ophelia stopped so suddenly and made eye contact with another person, she was tall, slim, light-skinned, with light brown curls cascading down her shoulders. The girl walked over to us, she had a cocky grin plastered on her face, while Ophelia had her fists clenched as tight as her jaw.

"Nice to see you again, old friend. Still sobbing over not winning Valedictorian?"

I stared at the girl in confusion, I've seen her before but my mind couldn't seem to remember who she actually was. Her hazel eyes shifted from Ophelia's eyes to mine, I tilted my head slightly.

"Still hanging around Deborah, I see.."

That's when it clicked, I gasped before my jaw dropped.

"Marsha Williams, God you were such a bitch in high school!"

I exclaimed with a laugh following after, everyone from Freshmen to Senior year knew her as 'Bitchy Marsha'. She thought she was better than everyone and felt the need to tell everyone her thoughts, I remember when Katie shoved her in a locker for the weekend.

"And you were a disappointment every time class started."

Marsha spat, I looked at her and rolled my eyes, her words never got to me for the reason that she was always insecure.

"Marsha, I don't think it is mature for us to continue our squabble in College, I'll see you later."

Ophelia spoke, I looked at my best friend and nodded my head. We walked past the girl, I only turned around to stick my tongue out.

"You know what Ophelia, you don't have what it takes to be at this school. I mean, I was top of my class every time, and you got it once."

Marsha added on, I looked at her with my eyes widened a little bit. For most people, this seemed like just a whack insult and you should let it go but for a person whose life was based all around getting good grades, they were fighting words.

"I'll make you eat your words, the same way you ate that dirty ass marshmallow off of the floor back in middle school."

My mouth was left open, Marsha looked at Ophelia and crossed her arms.

For the first time in a million years, am I going to be witnessing my best friend fight? I'll go get my camera, I need to record this moment. "

I joked, even though this was a serious moment and I should have been more mature, the tension in the air was really thick and I did not do well whenever there's intense moments.

Marsha didn't say another word to us, she flipped her hair and walked away from us. I'm guessing she was either going to the coffee shop or going to the library, either way this seemed like it was going to be the best semester or year of my entire life. As much as I wanted to talk about what just happened, I thought it would be best if I let Ophelia calm down first.

I turned on all of the lights, I locked the door as Ophelia walked to her room to grab some clothes so that she could take a shower and I guess calm herself down. I sat down on the couch and turned on the TV, I was really just waiting for my food.

Once my phone dinged, I got up and left my dorm, walking outside to the campus where my food awaited me. I paid and walked right back to my dorm, the temperature dropped a little bit which meant that there was a breeze.

"I got us some food, I know having an enemy makes you hungry. For both food and blood."

I teased as I placed the food on the counter, Ophelia only looked at me and rolled her eyes playfully.

"Look she's not my enemy, I don't have enemies."

I raised my eyebrows and looked at the girl before taking a bite out of my chicken sandwich, she was not fooling anybody with that sentence. Not even herself.

"Smells like rivalry to me, but think what you wanna think babe."

Ophelia was going to engage in this rivalry, whether she liked it or not, I knew she was going to drive myself and herself insane, but that's how a friendship works. If she goes insane, then I go insane, maybe a tad bit.
