Chapter 11,
He's a Hallway Crush
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~" He's nothing but a hallway crush, like I honestly just like seeing him because he gets me excited to wake up early and actually get to my classes. "
~ Deb's POV ~
We were about two months into the semester and I already wanted to drop out, I hated how long the assignments were and how little time I had to do them. I hated being rushed, especially when I needed my things to be perfect. Ophelia was fine however, she doesn't crack under pressure the way that I do.
Speaking of which, she was currently locked in her room, finishing up an English assignment that was given earlier today. I was using Photomath to help me with my calculus homework. Homework just gets harder every grade, I hate the person who created homework.
Luckily, to ease the agony of having to do this work, I had music playing in the background. Sometimes I get distracted but I usually get my work done.
What felt like all of eternity was only four hours, within those four hours I was able to complete every last piece of homework that was given to me. I sighed in relaxation as I grabbed all of my papers and placed them into my folder.
"If you finished your homework, do you want to come with to campus to give it in? It'll be fun!"
Ophelia exclaimed as she barges into my room, I looked at her with the dryest smile in the world before shaking me head.
Who would think giving homework in earlier than its due date fun? I'll tell you who, that who would be Ophelia.
"God you're so weird at times, and very nerdy. I'll go with you, only to accompany you."
I responded as I grabbed my bookbag, I really didn't want to go onto campus to give my homework in but I didn't want to leave Ophelia alone.
So without any hesitation or a second thought, we were out of our dorms and traveling from building to building so that we can give in our homework early. I was really looking forward to a nap after homework, Ophelia owes me, and I have the best idea.
"Hey Deb!"
A soft, male voice called out to me, I turned around and smiled before waving at the guy.
"Hey Chris!"
The boy walked over to me and wrapped his arms around, before saying goodbye and walking away. I'll rephrase myself, Ophelia and Chris thinks giving their homework early is fun.
"Who in the world is that, and should I be worried about your heart getting in harm's way?"
Ophelia asked, I rolled my eyes playfully before shaking my head. I was into Chris but he wasn't the type of guy I'd see myself with.
" He's nothing but a hallway crush, like I honestly just like seeing him because he gets me excited to wake up early and actually get to my classes. "
I explained myself calmly, Ophelia bumped shoulders with me.
"Is that why you're always so happy to go to your classes and why you've been waking up super early?"
I only nodded my head before grabbing the girl's hand, I'm pretty sure even if I didn't mention anything about a hallway crush, Ophelia would have known. I act a certain way with who I like, or so I've been told, I thought i was pretty discreet about it.
"Girl, you are some trouble."
Ophelia joked as she shook her head, I smiled and wrapped my arm around her shoulder before walking back to our dorms. I don't regret going with her to give in our homework early, I enjoyed the time we spent together.
Funny thing is I'm not going to deny that I'm trouble, I have way too many crushes to keep count that it's mind breaking, but that's between me and Ophelia, only. It's the best friend code, you don't tell everyone how many crushes your best friend has, that's just wrong and messy.
Besides, best friend code or not, you still need to keep that with you til your six feet under. Common courtesy, and common sense, which most people lack.
