" I didn't think this would be as pretty as it did in my mind, I'm glad that we did this, but I'm more glad we stood best friends. I cannot wait to see what next year will bring us. "

~ Deb's POV ~

The last day of school arrived faster than anyone could ever expect, there were tears, laughter, and even anger. The anger coming from the people who didn't pass their classes, I was waiting for my last class to end. Tomorrow everyone packs up and leaves to their home, which is what gets me pretty excited.

I have zero idea on how i survived this school year but I realized that it's because I had my friends, more importantly and specifically, Ophelia. I can do anything and get everything accomplished when she's with me, she's my favorite and best friend.

Tonight me and Ophelia were going to go to a near by beach and drink some coffee, while we enjoy each other's company. I suggest doing this whenever it's the last day of school, it really makes you feel wanted.

Once class was dismissed, I grabbed my stuff and shoved them into my book bag before rushing out of the classroom. I was thinking about going to get some coffee and snacks, along with a blanket for our beach hang out thing.

I ran to the dorms and sprinted up the stairs, taking my keys out from my pocket and opening the front door. Ophelia was probably on her way over, so I wanted to grab everything we needed since we would be leaving at around evening hour. Excitement rushed through my body as I grabbed a beach bag and filled it up with the Starbucks iced coffee drinks, and snacks.

The blanket was going to be the last thing I packed since I knew that we wouldn't really need it, by the time I finished with my short packing, Ophelia walked into the dorm. I smiled and left the dining room, walking over to her and engulfing her with a bear hug.

She's my safe haven, as dumb as it sounds, I know someone is hating on our friendship. Ophelia and I decided to watch a movie and start packing our things up, so we didn't have to pack a lot tomorrow.

Considering we were driving back home, instead of flying back, taking a bus, or taking the train. Once we noticed that the sun was going down, I told Ophelia we should change and go to the beach.

I walked into my almost empty, and naked room, I'm going to miss this room but I'll be back again next year. I grabbed some high waisted light blue shorts, and a light pink shirt that was shirt sleeved. My shoes were all white converses, I sound basic but I promise you I'm not.

I brushed my hair back into a claw clip ponytail before shutting the lights off in my room, and closing the door softly. I walked to the dining room and grabbed my bag, deciding last minute to grab a blanket and shove it in there. Ophelia walked out in a light blue sundress, and black converses.

We made sure everything was off before leaving our dorm, locking the door before leaving the dorms. I was super excited to go to the beach and spend some alone time with Ophelia, it feels like she was my sister and we were hanging out.

As we drove to the beach, we listened to different music, switching from soft to sad, everytime.

"Could you believe we've been best friends since elementary? That's insane."

Ophelia stated as we exited the car, with the bag in my hand. I only nodded my head as we made our way to the beach, the sand was already in my shoes.

We placed the blanket down before removing our shoes, I handed her a coffee and placed my head on her shoulder as we stared at the moving sea. The waves were comforting and calming for me, I loved the sight.

" I didn't think this would be as pretty as it did in my mind, I'm glad that we did this, but I'm more glad we stood best friends. I cannot wait to see what next year will bring us. "

I mumbled as I opened the coffee, taking a small sip. Ophelia grabbed the Polaroid photo before setting it behind us, and setting it on a timer.

I was wrong earlier, I had found my soulmate but I didn't realize it yet. Ophelia is my platonic soulmate, she's someone who I can be myself around without feeling judged.

I hope everyone finds someone like Ophelia, a best friend who cares for you and about you. A best friend in general is a great enough thing, but a best friend like her, that's just irreplaceable and priceless.

I'm glad I have a best friend like Ophelia, I'll always be grateful.
