His dream

"You call me here in the middle of the day to inform me that he's goddamn clean? You've got to be kidding me, Mr. Choi." Jina said, landing her hands on the table with a loud thud.

Jungkook tried calming her down.

"Yes ma'am, he- he's clean." He said, stuttering.

"You're hiding something." Jina said, looking him in the eyes.

This made the investigator look down at the table and gulp.
And Jina was quick to catch on. "That's it. You're lying. Was he here? Did he pay you more to stop digging into him?"

"I'm sorry ma'am but I got nothing on him. You can hire someone else and start anew, I'll send your money back."

"Tell me what you know, Mr. Choi. Please, this could save someone's life." Jina pleaded but he just averted his gaze towards Jungkook and then down at the table.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Yoon. I can't help."

"What do you mean you can't help?" Jina was losing it.

"Babe, let's go." Jungkook said, stepping in.

"No, I'm not going anywhere till he tells me the truth."

"Jina, he said he won't do it. We can't force him."

"He can't just back out like that."

"Yes he can, baby." Jungkook made her turn to face him. "We should go now. Yeah?" He added, and led her out of the investigator's office.

"What are we gonna do now?" Jina said as Jungkook got into the car.

"Nothing. You heard him. He's got nothing on him, and that's a good thing. You should give this up now, Jina." He said, starting the engine.

"He was clearly lying, didn't you see?"

"You're just being paranoid. You really need to stop, babe. Even the Investigator got nothing-"

"Don't you "Babe" me right now, Jeon Jungkook." Jina was pissed off at this point. "Fine, if no one believes me, I'll find out all about him myself." She said, getting out of the car.

"Jina, wait-" He rushed out of the car following her. "Where are you-"

"Please just go home, Jungkook."

"I can't do that-"

"Why? You don't even believe me. You're just pretending. You think I'm paranoid and I'm making all this shit up?"

"I never said that, Jina."

"You don't have to, Jungkook. Your eyes do." Saying that, she stomped away from Jungkook.
"Just you wait, Kim Taehyung. I'll show everyone who you really are."

Meanwhile, the Investigator got a phone call and he started trembling as he recognized the caller ID.

"Good job keeping your mouth shut, Mr. Choi." Said Taehyung, from the other end.

"Tha- Thank you, sir." Mr. Choi replied wiping the sweat off his forehead.

"Now, you know what to do next." Taehyung said, tapping the steering wheel of his car which was parked at a distance from the Investigator's office. He was busy taking care of this before following you to the bar where you went with your colleagues the same night.

He saw Jina coming in with Jungkook, he saw how they fought while leaving. He had also heard every word of the conversation between Jina, Jungkook and Mr. Choi.

Mr. Choi had him on call so that he could hear everything.

He had already spotted Mr. Choi since he first started following him around. He couldn't help but laugh at Jina's amateur move. An investigator? For real? Did Jina think a Sherlock Holmes would come to her rescue?
How naive of Jina to think so.

"Pl- Please, sir. I won't tell anyone." Mr. Choi begged but Taehyung just clicked his tongue with a tsk.

"Look, Mr. Choi. I thought we were clear about the terms and conditions here. You're a professional, you should know better by now." He said looking at the little five year old beside him in his school uniform, licking on an ice cream that Taehyung had bought for him. He looked at Taehyung fondly and smiled. Taehyung too was quick to return the gesture as he ruffled the kid's hair with the warmest smile.

It was Mr. Choi's son.

"You do it, and your son and wife will be just fine. But if you don't, I can't really guarantee their safety." He said.

"Please. Don't do anything to them. I'll do it, I'll do it." Panic was evident in Mr. Choi's voice.

"Good, I'm waiting and I don't really like waiting, so make it quick." Taehyung said, impatiently.

On his command, Mr. Choi opened the drawer to his left and took out few pills of cyanide kept in a sachet.

"Where's my dadda? When I see him?" The kid asked Taehyung, diverting his attention.

"Dadda's a little busy. You'll see him soon." He explained with a smile.

"Mr. Choi, are you done?" Taehyung asked and waited for a response from the other side but he got none. "You're done, I guess." He chuckled.

Mr. Choi was dead by now, he had taken all the pills. Taehyung sighed in relief when he got no response from the other side.

"How about I drop you back at school? Your mom would be worried if she doesn't find you there." Taehyung said and the little one just nodded.
"Don't tell her you skipped school today and went out with me to have ice cream, okay? She'll be really angry." He convinced him.

The kid nodded again and Taehyung laughed at how adorable he was.

Kim Taehyung could never hurt kids. He loved kids, but he could always use them as his weapon, in this case, more as a shield.

Parents love their child. Well, not all parents but Mr. Choi definitely did love his son. He was a good father.
Too bad now this kid would have to grow up without one.

While driving the little one to school, he started thinking about his future with you. You would be his wife, the mother of his kids and he would try his best to be a good dad. He won't let anyone touch his babies or you.
He would drive his babies to school. He would buy them everything they'd ask of him.
He would give them everything, he would give you everything.

He would do anything to turn this dream of his to reality.

To write a good story, a few sacrifices must be made, he thought.
