Different hell

From that day onwards, things only got worse. With each passing day the intensity of the torture on Taehyung only increased and the guilt and repentance in his brother's eyes was starting to fade.

And then it was no longer there.

He started hitting and bullying Taehyung without his father's commands.

And things were only getting worse. His father and brother would beat him up at home. At school, Taejun and his friends would bully him.

He had no friends in school, kids from his class won't talk to him. It was almost like he didn't exist. No one cared. But he never missed a day at school. Why?
Why would someone like Taehyung, who didn't have friends and had no interest in studies or any school related activities, want to go to school everyday? He had a crush, of course.

A girl from his grade but she belonged to a different class. Just to get a glimpse of her, he went to school everyday. She made him forget all his worries. She was really really pretty and always had a smile on her face. But, she too was kind of a loner just like Taehyung. The only difference was, she chose to be a loner while Taehyung was forced to be one.

As a kid, Taehyung was always looked down on by his classmates. It was because of his appearance. He didn't have a fresh and tidy pair of uniform, his shoes were old and they had holes in them. The truth was, he never wore a fresh pair of uniforms, it was always his brother's hand-me-downs. Everything he had belonged to his brother. Taejun would toss his old belongings at him when he didn't need them anymore.

But Taehyung felt seen for the first time when this girl smiled at him. It was their annual sports day and everyone was busy participating and enjoying with their friends, parents were cheering on for their kids, while Taehyung just sat there in a corner. Nibbling his lower lip and shaking his legs. He could have chosen to not come but staying at home meant he would be tortured, so he would rather come to school and do nothing than get beaten by his father.

That's when he looked up and saw the girl, smiling at him from a distance. Taehyung's eyes widened.

Is she smiling at me? He thought. No, it can't be. Why would someone even notice him?

The girl gestured to him, trying to tell him something.
He didn't understand a thing. Well, probably because he was too shocked and was still not sure if the girl was really talking to him.

After receiving no response from Taehyung the girl started jogging towards him. His heart started beating real fast, he was beginning to sweat. He was nervous.

"Hey!" The girl said, panting a little.

Taehyung was still too shocked to reply to her.

"You have a little something on your face." The little girl said pointing at his face.

"My- my face?" He asked, blinking continuously.

"Yes." She said giggling. "Did you eat berry jam?" She asked fluttering her lashes at him curiously.

"Yes. You how know?" Taehyung was confused. He was so nervous that he messed up his speech.

This made the girl giggle again. "Because, it's all over your face." She said, chuckling. "Here." She took her handkerchief out of her skirt pocket and handed it over to Taehyung. "Wipe it off."

Taehyung took it from her shyly, still unable to believe that he actually had a conversation with someone, especially a girl.

"Tha- nk you." He mewled.
