Bittersweet

Now, you were sitting across the table from your boss whose eyes were glued to the television.

And you were engrossed in studying his features as you thanked the heavens for keeping him distracted.

The restaurant was empty and a few staffs along with the owner were present apart from you both. It was raining heavily and it didn't seem like it'd stop any time soon.

"It'll be stormy for a while." Suddenly he spoke, still looking at the TV.

You finally became a little conscious and stopped yourself from shamelessly checking him out so openly.

"Huh?" You asked confused, you couldn't hear him clearly the first time.

"They said the weather will get worse, it's gonna be stormy." He said, finally looking away from the TV and turning his attention to you.

"Oh." You mouthed, avoiding his gaze. He could sense that you were being awkward and nervous.

"You can loosen up a little you know, we're not inside the office right now."

"But you're still my boss." You whispered but he heard it.

You glanced at him only to catch him staring at you intensely, already.
And you just didn't wanna look away, you couldn't.

You could feel the goosebumps gracing your skin as his dragon eyes pierced right through your soul. You were feeling so many things. This was unreal. This has to be unreal, you thought.

How was he making you feel like this without even touching you?

"Your order's here, sir." The waiter said as he placed two bottles of Soju and Spicy Tteokbeokki on the table, putting an end to your staring contest.

The smell hit you making your stomach growl again.

Namjoon chuckled subtly, and when you glared at him he acted like he had heard nothing.

"I have been meaning to ask you, are you feeling better now?" He asked.

"I don't know."

"Do you mind me asking what had happened that day? Why were you crying?"

"I lost someone I loved." You said.

And Namjoon was a tiny bit disappointed. Of course, you had someone already. What was he even thinking?

"If you both had a fight or misunderstanding, then you should talk it out, I'm sure you both will be back in no time, he will definitely want you back-"

"She died, in an accident." You said, gulping down the Soju shot in one go. But was it really an accident? You thought.

"She?" He asked, a little confused.
So, you were a lesbian? Or probably bi?

"Yeah, she. My best friend." You sighed.

Namjoon was relieved for a second, although he shouldn't be feeling this way. You were mourning in front of him but he couldn't control his relieved sigh.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know. I'm sorry for assuming you had a fight with your boyfriend or something."

"It's okay. But, grief doesn't only come from a break up or losing a partner, you know." You chuckled a little.

"Yes, I should have thought about that. I'm sorry." He said, looking down.

It was getting gloomy and awkward, so you tried to ease the tension.
