Luigi inhaled deeply. He didn't think he'd ever get used to the constant smell of pizza. The other guard glanced at Luigi.
"I don't think I'll ever get tired of this," The guard said contently. He chuckled. "I mean free pizza smell! Right?"
Luigi nodded. "Yeah, I love the smell of-uh-pizza." He lied. He actually found the smell sickening. It reminded him of everything that had happened to him, but he thought it would probably be best to lie and say the smell was delicious. He sighed. He just had to wait until they fed the prisoners again, then he could run away from this city and never look back, if Barry knew where Gertie was being kept.
"You nervous?" The other guard asked. Luigi froze. He had no idea what the guard was talking about.
"Y-yeah," He said nervously. "So nervous."
The guard nodded. "I mean how can we replace the holy one?" He asked. Luigi nodded, trying to hide his terror. That was what The Order of the Slice members called the pizza Luigi stepped on. "I heard Peperoni would be selecting the new one," The guard continued. "Big day." He said. Luigi nodded again.
"Yep." He confirmed. An Order of the Slice member stormed into The Oven. He was holding someone by the collar of their shirt. Luigi almost fainted when he saw who it was.
"I found this Knight laying by a hotel," The Order of the Slice member growled. "She was missing her sword."
The guard grimaced. "Disgusting." He declared. The hotel manager looked up at them. Her eyes widened when she saw Luigi.
"You-"
Luigi cut her off by stomping on her foot. She yelped. The guard and The Order of the Slice member stared at her.
"I hate those weirdo's too," The guard said. He turned his attention back to the hotel manager. "I mean, The Patty Pals? Seriously?"
"That's not our name and you know it!" The manager yelled. The guard glared at her.
"What's your name?" He asked.
"Mary." She answered.
"Well Mary," The guard said. "You're going to The Oven." A smile spread across the guards face. He looked at Luigi. "Isn't our job great?" He asked. Luigi nodded. He looked back at The Order of the Slice member. "Follow me." He said. They walked towards the prison cells. Luigi sighed. His cover was almost blown. The other guard and The Order of the Slice member returned a while later. The guard smiled at Luigi. "That was exciting," He said. "Getting to lock up one of those stupid Burger Knights." Luigi frowned. This food society rivalry was sad and weird. He just nodded.
"Yeah-uh-it was awesome." The guard's smile widened. He checked his watch.
"Oh! Pizza break!" The guard said enthusiastically. "Let's go." Luigi looked around.
"B-but the other guard aren't here yet." He said.
The guard shrugged. "I do not care," He said plainly. "Pizza break!"
Luigi sighed and reluctantly followed him out of The Oven. The guard led him to what looked like a break room, there were some Order of the Slice members sitting at various tables the guard walked up to one of the vending machines. Instead of some chips or soda, pizza came out. Luigi couldn't help being shocked. The guard pulled out the pizza out of the odd machine. He laughed. "You look like you've never seen one of these before!" The guard exclaimed. Luigi shrugged helplessly.
"I'm-uh-new," He said awkwardly. The guard narrowed his eyes.
"What's you're title?" He asked. Luigi's breathe quickened. He forgot what his pizza name was supposed to be. He couldn't look at his chain while the guard was looking at him.
