We've been sailing for a few hours now. Watching the island slowly get smaller and smaller
until it disappeared leaving nothing but endless blue around us was definitely a sight I never thought I would see.
We put a tarp up above us some time ago to give us all some shade. Elise, Issac and I took the time to try and understand how steering the sail works. Pat didn't care enough to learn though.
I showed Elise the portal device. She held it and checked it out for a while. She told me how alien the design was since she had never seen something futuristic looking from our world. We explained to her everything about our situation she might not have known. Everything like how I made a portal device in our separate world, Matt was kidnapped when I was showing it off, we came here to save him, just things like that so she had a more firm understanding about things.
Pat started to play his music an hour into sailing which shocked Elise. She liked the sound of it and had to ask if it was actually music. It was kinda funny to see her reaction to Tally Hall, she liked the music and could kinda recognize a few of the instruments but she was still surprised about everything else like the auto-tune and more techno-sounding music.
After all of that, the four of us are just now waiting until we reach the desert island of Guapeu. We don't know how long the trip will be, it could be hours to days. Issac took some fishing line out of his backpack and put a hook on there to try and catch something. Pat is laying in the shade sleeping since he has nothing else to do. As for Elise and I, we've just been sitting around in the shade.
After talking thoroughly about what me and my friends are doing here, she and I have just been making the occasional small talk here and there about stuff that doesn't really matter. While the two of us were sitting there I reached over and grabbed my water bottle from my bag.
As I started to have a drink she asked, "How do I talk modern?"
"What?" I replied confused.
"Pat told me I must talk modern, how?"
I thought for a few seconds and replied, "Say yeah instead of yes, say nah instead of no, and instead of saying stuff like 'do not', say it as don't."
"That is it?"
"I don't know, I have no clue how to tell you to take modern. I guess just try to pick up on how we talk." I explained.
She looked away from me and out to the endlessly stretching ocean. The blue sky resting above us had very few clouds and the occasional seagull flew above us. They didn't look much different than the ones in our world. I guess they seemed a bit more healthier.
I saw Issac yank up on the line he had in the water before he started to pull something up. He had a tough time doing so since he didn't have a fishing rod and had to pull it up barehanded, but after a short fight, he managed to bring a fish onto the boat.
"Hell yeah!" He happily said to himself.
He used some pliers to pull the hook out of the fish's mouth and started to examine it. The fish was a vibrant blue colour with some very defined spines. It was pretty small though.
"What fish is that?" I asked.
"It looks like a red snapper but blue. It's probably more stealthy than the ones in our world." Issac guessed.
"How are you going to cook it on this boat?" Elise asked.
"I'm not keeping this one, way too small," Issac replied before throwing it back into the ocean.
