Me and my friends were in a cart heading south at the moment to get to the leader's base. I don't know what time it is in the early morning, I just remember being woken up to someone knocking on my door, having some jerky and coffee for breakfast, and now me and my friends are being taken to battle.

Today's gonna suck, I can barely handle watching people die and now we gotta be around a base while cannons and muskets destroy it and kill the people inside of it. Apparently, there's a cliff near the base with some trees and stuff so they're going to prepare their siege out of sight.

I didn't want any of this to happen, I just wanted to try to peacefully free Matt and then leave, now I'm caught up in this war I don't care about, nobody does besides the anthros.

I leaned back in the cart while trying to think about something else. I ended up thinking about my family at home and how much I hated them. The whole divorce that happened just ruined things in my family. My mom started to be more bitchy and controlling, my dad started to be more uncaring, and my sister just became even more of a hellspawn.

I'm glad I knew Matt, he and I talked a lot about the whole thing which made me feel better. He also made a few jokes about it which kinda made me laugh. I like how his jokes weren't mean like Pats, they kinda brought light to a bad situation. I wish he was here for this.

I probably looked a bit too down because Issac asked, "Are you good?"

"I don't know, I didn't want to be around people dying and now we're a part of a war," I replied.

"A war for a good cause, those revolutionaries need to be put down." Malek chimed in.

"I guess, they do encourage slavery and things and they've been raiding and killing towns." I agreed.

"Indeed, we can't let someone like them take control of each island," Malek added.

"Each island? What do you mean?" I asked.

"There are multiple islands with different habitats around this part of the world," Malek answered.

"What do you mean?"

"Long ago the gods told us of these three islands in the middle of the ocean and soon after adventures set out to find them. There is a temperate woodland one which is the one we are on, there is one that is mostly a desert, and lastly, there is a more mountainous jungle one. There is also this kingdom of shark anthros that lives in the ocean between each island but they do not really like anyone they deem imperialist." He explained.

"Huh... interesting. So each island has their own king on them?"

"Only two of the islands, the jungle one is full of savages. I have heard talk of a dragon ruling that island but any poor adventurer who sails there typically never returns."

"Is there gold in the jungle that is being protected?" Pat asked.

"I'm not sure. No one knows what truly lies within the heart of that island. Maybe someone proficient in magic managed to spy on them, but I doubt it."

"I bet there's a giant heap of gold and gems. We should make a stop there and come home rich." Pat jokingly suggested.

The next hour went by with nothing really happening. Malek talked with Issac and I about our world and how monarchies are basically obsolete. We suggested they change the government in this world to try and stop a possible revolution like the french one where the majority of peasants rise up and chop people's heads off.

We told him some other stuff before he told us about the revolutionaries. They became a thing when the economy across the islands started to falter. The woodland island faced some bad weather so the farmland was ruined.
