Sick (Ludwig x fem! Reader)

The sun was only now rising, Ludwig opened his eyes, trying to move his long blue hair out of the way.

Seeing the clouds float around his castle brought peace to his mind, sighing he finally got himself out of bed, looking over at Y/n, it felt like only yesterday since they married, and not to mention have two little kids...

Ludwig had also had a change of heart, instead of being an evil koopa like his 'father,' he had a castle build in the clouds out of the way, and was an alliance to peach.

But it was all to keep him and his family safe, a sudden fit of coughing broke his thoughts. His head snapped towards his wife, who was now sitting up trying to catch her breath.

"Are you alright, hun?" He questioned with worry, walking to her side of the bed. But she tried to push him away, "I'm fine!" She huffed.

However another stroke of coughing escaped her lips, and a small sneeze clearly showed she was far from alright.

Ludwig ran a hand through his blue hair, "your staying in bed today." Y/n shook her head trying to get out of bed. "No, I'm getting up-"

"Your my queen, stay put and rest!" The koopa growled softly, the h/c haired woman scoffed. "Exactly I'm your queen and I need to be by your side at all times!"

The door then opened slowly, Lily stood their hugging a large stuffed bear, her blue hair falling in front of her e/c eyes. "Mommy? Are you and daddy fighting?"

Ludwig was quick to deny, "of course not...she's just ill, and I'm trying to tell her to stay in bed..." Y/n's face softened as their son, Luke, came in, he was full koopa, having h/c hair and a blue shell like his father, but his eyes were red.

(Just don't ask how Luke was born 😅)

"We can help, can't we dad?" He asked with sparkling eyes, Ludwig smiled and nodded. Y/n felt bad for staying in bed, but she knew that Ludwig wouldn't let her go anywhere.

So she got comfortable, whilst Ludwig and the kids left her alone, "I might as well read..." she huffed, grabbing the book that was sitting in her bedside table and waited for whatever her family was doing.

Ludwig clapped to get his servants attention, they all looked towards him as he cleared his throat, "our queen is ill, and she needs the best care!"

And quickly a few koopas got to work with making soup, whilst Ludwig carefully made a cup of lemon tea, it was hard with his large claws, but that wasn't hard with Lily around!

Luke had waddled his way back to his mother's room, "what's up Squirt?" She croaked, a small cough escaped her throat.

"I wanted to stay with you..." he mumbled, "give you some company?" Y/n felt her heart melt as the small koopa, so she invited her son onto the bed.

Y/n then realised the h/c haired koopa was holding a book, "what's that for?" She mumbled, he opened it with wide excited eyes. "I wanted to read to you, like you always do when me or Lily get sick!"

All she could do was chuckled, which of course came out like a printer...but she listened in as Luke read the children's book happily, and when he Finished, Ludwig and Lily had arrived with the tea and Soup.

"Oh Luke," Ludwig sounded surprised to see his son with Y/n, the children's book open, "you know your mother can't read to you since she's sick right?"

Luke nodded as he shuffled off the bed, "I was actually just reading her a story!" He chirped happily, Y/n nodded with a small smile on her face, "he's a great storyteller..."

"I know where he gets that from," the blue haired koopa chuckled as he set down the bowl of soup, Lily gently placed down the tea next to it.

Y/n shook her head, "you didn't have to this for me you know." Ludwig scoffed as he sat down on the bed, the children soon left the room to go play.

"Your the queen, you deserve this, you'll make yourself more sick if you try anything whilst in this state," the koopa whispered, Y/n stated silent as she slowly ate the soup, feeling the warmth going down her throat.

In a few minutes she had finished and was taking small sips of the tea, "what in this?" She questioned. "It's lemon tea," he stated, "you know that it helps with sore throats, right?"

Y/n nodded slowly, "of course I did, hun." Ludwig laid himself in bed and heavily sighed, the woman placed her cup down and snuggled close to her husband, who didn't hesitate to pull her closer.

"I'm very grateful you did this for me," she hummed slowly. Ludwig smirked to himself, placing a small kiss on her forehead. "I know you are, your just stubborn and don't want to stick in one place."

He wasn't wrong about that, then the couple shared a small kiss, something that they bother craved from each other. But Y/n pulled away with realisation, "your probably going to get ill too!"

Ludwig was quick to shake his head, "I highly doubt it, besides if I do, I have my beautiful jewel to look after me~" Y/n giggled as a blush crept onto her face.

"Ewww!" The adults looked at the door to see it open and Lily was disgusted like a child is, but also covering Luke's eyes. "Oh! By the way, Mario and Peach are here with the boys!"

The two kids ran to, presumably, the entrance to the castle, Y/n sighed and lifted herself out of the king sized bed, covering herself in robes to keep herself warm, holding the tea.

"Come on love," she nodded towards the door, Ludwig ran his hand through his hair and followed Y/n out of the bedroom. "You know it drives me nuts when you do that."

Ludwig smirked, "oh I know that, it's why I constantly do it!" Y/n scoffed playfully as they saw Peach and Mario with their boys, Peter and Milo.

They caught up with everything that has happened, until Ludwig cleared his throat, and started coughing.

"You alright lad?" Mario questioned, Y/n facepalmed and groaned. "I told you this would happen..."

Ludwig shook his head, "I'm alright, honestly." But he was now the one in a fit of coughs and Y/n made no hesitation to boot him up the stairs.

"Mario, Peach," the h/c haired woman sighed, "I think you could go in case you or the kids get sick." They agreed and Lily seemed really sad that Milo in particular was leaving.

Y/n then followed her husband up the stairs, "now I'll be looking after you," she coughed a little, Ludwig shook his head.

"No, your still sick," he mumbled, "I'm not that bad..." he was even more stubborn that her, Y/n rolled her eyes and got to work to get rid of the illness as quick as she could.

"There..." she huffed a little as she placed down some tea, and of course more soup." She smiled to herself as she hopped back into bed.

Ludwig embraced her and sighed, "I'm glad we can care for each other like this." Y/n raised a brow.

"Well, isn't that what we are together for?" She hummed, "now get some rest, you look awful."

The koopa rolled his eyes as Y/n laughed, he ate and drank the soup and tea quickly and laid in bed with the love of his life.

Nothing could be more perfect!
