A horrible accident (Lakitu x koopa! reader)

Y/n stretched, hearing her bones crack and placing herself on her bike, it was currently a sunny day and she was trying to practice her drifting skills around Dk's summit.

"What are you doing here if you don't mind me asking?" Y/n looked up to see Lakitu in his cloud.

She smiled up at him and waved, "just trying to perfect my drifts!" Lakitu looked at her a little confused.

"But your drifting is already perfect," he answered honestly. Y/n tilted her head, "really?" He nodded, and even his cloud seemed to agree as it smiled widely.

Lakitu couldn't admit it, but he did have feelings for Y/n. The only reason that he couldn't tell her was because he was too much of a wuss to tell her.

He watched in amazement as the lady koopa drifted around the course with ease and did tricks off the ramps, she was positive that everything would go smoothly tomorrow!

"Hey Y/n?" Lakitu floated down to get closer to her, his cheeks being dusted in pink every time he spoke to her, "I would highly suggest wearing a helmet-"

She looked at him confused as she dusted off her f/c bike, "but no real accidents have taken place before right?"

Lakitu fumbled with his words, and his cloud rolled it's eyes, "well no but-" Y/n cut him off yet again as she climbed back onto her bike.

"Then there's nothing to worry about! Beside you save everyone whenever we fall in water or off a cliff, and no harm is done!"

She was right, but he didn't want anything to happen to her, at least something serious. It had been years since something so severe happened on a race track...

However Y/n heaved goodbye and left her turtle friend, who was fearful of history repeating itself.

The cheers from the crowd blasted through the air as everyone walked out and to the track, the cup they were competing in was the banana cup.

Shebet land was the first track, Lakitu looked towards Y/n with worry, she was still not wearing anything protective but at least she was wearing warm clothing.

"Are you sure your going to be alright?" He asked the koopa as he held the traffic light with his fishing line.

"Of course I will!" Y/n nodded with a smile, "I've won many times on this cup." However Lakitu saw Wario immediately smirk to himself.

Something was definitely up and Lakitu didn't like it, Y/n gave him a genuine smile, "I'll be fine, ok?"

The koopa sighed and then got into his position, clearing his throat, "are we all ready?!"

Everyone cheered loudly, the crowd roared in the cold wind, "three, two, one...GO!"

The racers were off, everyone cheering as Y/n was gently driving across the ice with such grace, once the first item boxes came through, Daisy was in first, Bowser in Second and Mario in third.

However Y/n wasn't going to let that last. Lakitu watched as she obtained a green shell and was able to aim it right at Mario.
