9. Shopping With Keefe

It's been a couple weeks since the incident and everything's been going fine.

I'm walking up to my room. I hear two people talking in the other room.

I peak in and see Kalo and Ro talking.

I turn around and open my room door. Keefe's sitting in my bed drawing.
"Finally." He says closing his sketchbook.
"Keefe, what are you doing here?" I ask.
"Well, I was bored and decided to come hang out but you weren't here." He says.
"Yeah, I was with Sophie, the baby alicorns got out."
"Again?" He asks. I nod.

"Oh, well, whatever, you're here now." He says. I sit next to him.
"So what are you drawing?" I ask.
"Can't say. It's a secret." He says.

"Let me see." I say reaching for it. He pulls it back and I look at him annoyed. I notice a cut on his cheek.

"What happened?" I ask now concerned.
"Oh, this?" He asks pointing to it. I nod. "No big deal. Dad got mad about my room so he smashed my vial and a glass shard ended up hitting me." He says casually.

"Keefe, what the hell?" I ask now seriously concerned.
"It's really not a big deal."
"Did you get it cleaned?"
"Why would I clean it?" He asks as if I'm stupid.

I grab his arm and drag him to the bathroom.
"Stand still." I say getting a small cloth wet.

I hold his face with one hand as I press the cloth against the cut.
"This is dumb." He says. "I'm fine."
"Why don't you shut up and let me help." I say.
"Fine, doc." He says rolling his eyes.

I grab a small bandaid and put it on him.

"Does it make me look badass?" He asks.
"Go sit down." I say. He laughs running to my bed.

"I think it's sad you don't have a stuffed animal." He says.
"Tell me about it."
"Mr. Gibbs probably misses you."
"He definitely does." I say leaning back on my bed.

He lays down next to me.
"I like your room." He says.
"You spend more time in here than Maddy. And she lives here." I say.
"Honestly, I should have a drawer." He says.
"Go for it."
"Okay, I want that one." He says pointing to a drawer.
"It's yours." I say leaning back down.

There's a knock at the door.
"Come in!" I yell. It's Gael.
"Just wondering if you want food." He says.
"Yeah." I say.
"Okay, here." He says setting a tray down.
"Thank you!" Keefe yells.

I grab the tray and put it on the bed.
"He loves me." Keefe says taking a bite.
"Is that so?"
"Yes. I'm - his - favorite." He says pausing while chewing.
"Oh." I say laughing.

My imparter goes off. I reach for it.
"Who is it?" Keefe asks.

It's from Percy: "Blair."

"Percy." I say.
"What's up with sea boy?" He asks.
"I don't know."

I write back: "what's up?"
He responds: "Okay so we're going on a boat trip in a couple days. We shouldn't be gone long, probably 4 days. Wanna come? You can bring your friends."
I respond: "omg yes! when are we leaving?"
He answers: "Friday."

"Keefe we don't have school Friday right?" I ask.
"Or Monday." He says.
"Good."

I type back: "I'll be there. I'll let you know if anyone else can."
He answers: "Okay, see you here at 8."

I set it down and look at Keefe.
"Wanna go on a little boat trip on Friday?" I ask.
"Yes." He says. "Who else is going?"
"Whoever wants to. And the demigods." I say.
"Okay, cool."

"Wait, what are we supposed to wear?" Keefe asks.
"Clothes?"
"Well, obviously. But like what kind? Human?"
"Yeah." I say. He looks at me kinda scared.
"I don't have any. Or a bathing suit."
"Oh shit. You're right."
"What are we gonna do?" He asks.

"Get up." I say. He does. "We're going shopping."
"Okay um, now?"
"Well, yeah. I can get us all stuff."
"Okay, great."

I walk out to the balcony.
"We're ditching Kalo and Ro?"
"Yeah, humans and Goblins are a big difference."
"True."

I grab his hand, before jumping off.

I teleport us to a city.

"Woah." Keefe says looking around.
"Come on we have to find a place."

I drag him into a store.
"I want this." Keefe says pointing to a hoodie with batman.
"Okay." I say smiling.

He also grabs a pair of sweatpants while I grab jeans and a crop top.

I pay for them and we change into them.

"I'm batman." Keefe says smiling like a toddler.
"Do you even know who that is?" I ask laughing.
"No."
"He's a superhero."
"I'm batman, so I could be your hero anyday." He says. I laugh and roll my eyes.

"Come on." I say dragging his arm into another store.

We walk around and get clothes for everyone.

"Is this cute?" I ask holding up a pair of shorts and short blue shirt.
"Yeah, the blue matches my eyes." He says.
"Very well observed." I laugh.

I add it in the bag, and go get bathing suits. I get a couple and help Keefe chose some pairs.

"I think that's enough." I say looking into the bag.
"I agree. How are you paying?" Keefe asks.
"I got Dex to transfer some Elvin money to human money."
"Smart."

I pay and we walk out. I put the clothes in the void.

Keefe scoops me up.
"What are you doing?" I yell laughing. He laughs and runs.
"I love being here." He says.
"Put me down!" I yell. He does. We start laughing just looking at eachother.

"Let's go home." I say.
"Yeah, before they realize we left." Keefe says.

I grab his hand and teleport us back.

"Do you guys wanna go on the boat trip?" I ask after explaining what happened.
"Yeah, we can go." Biana say's referring to herself and Fitz.
"Me too." Sophie says.
"Who's going again?" Dex asks.
"The demigods." I say.
"Are they nice?"
"Yeah." I say.

"Sorry, but imma pass." Tam says.
"Why?" Biana asks.
"I'm not being on a boat with Keefe for 4 days. He's a pain."
"I don't wanna go with you either!" Keefe says.

"Tam." Linh says.
"What?"
"Please. I really want to go, but I can't without you. Please." Linh begs.
"Fine." Tam sighs.
"Thank you!"

"I also have your clothes." I say. "So don't worry about that."
"You're a lifesaver." Sophie says.
"Hey! I went with too." Keefe says.
"That's true."
"And I got the coolest thing ever."
"What?" Dex asks.
"A batman hoodie." Sophie and I laugh.
