15. Lady Gisela

The neverseen are about to show. I just hope they don't bring their shade.

They appear in front of us. I make my dagger appear.
"Relax Blair, I don't want to fight." The leader says taking her hood off. She's blonde.
"Mom." Keefe says clenching his jaw.
"Keefe, my boy." She says.

She steps forward and I step up.
"Stay back." I say. She steps back.
"Keefe, I need to talk to you." She pleads.
"Talk." Keefe says staring her down.
"Alone."
"If you have something to say, say it here. Preach it to us all."

She clenches her jaw.
"You can't keep hiding away forever." She says.
"I'm not hiding." Keefe says chuckling softly.
"You have a legacy to complete."
"Not happening."
"You have no choice."
"Oh, I think I do. And I'm not going with you and your little gang."
"Keefe."
"No."

She steps towards him.
"I said stay back." I say lifting the dagger. She stares me down for a second.
"I just want to speak to my son."
"You did, and he won't be forced to something against his will." I narrow my eyes.
"Get out of my way. I don't want anyone to get hurt."
"No." I say tilting my head softly.

I can see shadows start moving towards me. I spark lightning in its direction. Someone yelps and the shadows disappear.
"Now, what were you saying?" I ask looking back at Lady Gisela.

"Keefe, you will complete your legacy. It's only a matter of time." She says stepping back.
"Pleasure to meet you." I say waving.

They all disappear and I look at Keefe.

His expression is hard to read but he looks upset.
"You okay?" I ask quietly. He nods.
"Just fine." He says smiling.

I can tell there's something wrong but I'm not gonna push him.

"Keefe, you good, man?" Fitz asks.
"Yeah, just gonna head home." Keefe says. Before we can respond he lightleaps.

"Is he okay?" Linh asks me. I shrug.
"I don't know. He said he was." I say. She nods softly.

"I'm gonna go home too." I say.
"Alright, see you later." Sophie says. I nod and lightleap.

That night I change into fuzzy pants and a tanktop.

I'm laying in bed.

There's a knock at the door.
"Come in." I say expecting it to be Alice or Gael since Maddy is alseep.

The door opens and Keefe walks in. He's crying.

I sit up.

"Keefe?" I ask softly. He doesn't respond. I get up and hug him. He shakes softly as his arms wrap around my waist.

"You're okay." I say.
"I don't have a choice." He says pulling away.
"Keefe. Stop. I'm not going to let them do anything to you. Do you hear me?" I ask. He nods. I move the hair out of his face.

"Don't let them stress you out." I whisper.
"I'm scared."
"Don't be. They won't hurt you. You have my word." I say. He smiles.
"You have my word." He repeats laughing.
"Keefe Sencen." I say. He smiles wiping his eyes.

"I was born to be evil." He says.
"But you're not. You have the sweetest and purest heart I know." I say. He hugs me again and I don't pull away.

"Come here." I say moving to my bed.

He lays down next to me. I look at him and he's looking at me.
"I'm sorry for bothering you." He whispers.
"Shut up. You're there for me for everything. You mean the world to me, Keefe, and I'll do anything in my power to keep you safe." I say. He smiles.
"You have a lot of it." He says. I smile and throw my arm around him.

He lays his head on my chest as he wraps his arms around me.
"Thank you." He says.
"Anytime." I say closing my eyes.

"Keefe, you will complete your legacy. It's only a matter of time." Mom says.
"Pleasure to meet you." Blair says.

I'm scared. I can't escape her.

"You okay?" Blair whispers.
"Just fine." I say adding a smile.

"Keefe, you good, man?" Fitz asks.
"Yeah, just gonna head home." I say needing to think.

I lightleap home.

I lay on my bed. I can't escape. She's going to get me. I'm going to be a monster.

I'm so scared.

I ignore Ro coming in to talk to me.

"Hunkyhair." She says poking my cheek. I roll over. "Come on, get up. I will call her over."
"Who?" I ask.
"Don't ask me who, you know who." She says.
"Don't bother her." I say. She sighs before walking out.

It gets dark and I can't stop worrying.

Tears start streaming down my face. It's hard to breathe.

I need to get out of this house.

I lightleap to the only place I feel safe. With Blair.

I knock on her door unable to stop crying.
"Come in." She says.

I walk in and she sits up.

"Keefe?" She asks. I can't respond. She walks over and hugs me tightly. I let myself relax in her arms.

"You're okay."
"I don't have a choice."
"Keefe. Stop. I'm not going to let them do anything to you. Do you hear me?" She asks. I nod too scared that if I talk I'll break down. She moves the hair out of my face and her simple touch helps me breathe.

"Don't let them stress you out."
"I'm scared."
"Don't be. They won't hurt you. You have my word." She says. I smile at how dumb she sounds.
"You have my word." I laugh.
"Keefe Sencen." She says.

"I was born to be evil." I whisper.
"But you're not. You have the sweetest and purest heart I know." I hug her unsure on how to properly respond.

"Come here." She says going to her bed. I lay down next to her and look at her softly. I feel awful that I came and now she's taking care of me.
"I'm sorry for bothering you." I whisper.
"Shut up. You're there for me for everything. You mean the world to me Keefe and I'll do anything in my power to keep you safe." I smile.
"You have a lot of it." She smiles while putting her arm around me pulling me closer to her.

I wrap my arms around her waist as I rest my head on her chest.

I'm incredibly comfortable.
"Thank you." I say knowing I'm going to fall asleep.
"Anytime."

I close my eyes feeling safe and wanted.
