13. Funeral

They had planned a funeral, human style.

Thalia walks over to me. I hug her tightly.
"I'm so sorry I wasn't there." She says.
"I'm just glad you're here now." I say. She smiles sadly.

"Hey, B." Keefe says putting a hand on my shoulder. "It's about to start." He adds softly.
"Okay." I say.

We walk over and sit down.

Piper goes up to say a few words. She's crying the whole time.
"He was the sweetest person ever." She cries. A tear rolls down my face. I wipe it away.

Keefe grabs my hand softly. He starts sending me calming feelings. I smile at him thankful.

Piper finishes and sits down. Percy goes up.

Once he's done. I stand up and walk infront of everyone.

"Okay. Umm- hi." I say before taking a deep breath. "I only met Jason about three months ago. Though the time was brief, I can proudly say I'm glad to be his sister. He cared about everyone so much. And when he loved, he loved hard. He helped me understand what being the daughter of Zeus meant. He's the best big brother I could've ever asked for. And I'm truly disappointed that Maddy won't be able to have him in her life." I say as a tear rolls down my face.

I go and sit down.
"It was sweet." Keefe whispers to me. I give him a small smile.

Jason's brought down into the ground.

Maddy grabs onto my arm. I put an arm around her gently.

I can see Piper sobbing.

Jason gets buried.

"We also planned a woke." Percy says walking up to me. I nod.
"Where?" I ask.
"Uh your house." Keefe says.
"Oh."
"Yeah, sorry."

We lightleap to my house. The outside is decorated.

Everyone gets there.
"Do you want something?" Keefe asks me.
"Water."
"Roger that." He says walking off.

I walk over to Piper.
"You okay, hun?" I ask. She shakes her head softly and I pull her in. She shakes as she cries.

I can feel a tear roll down my face as I hold her tightly.
"It's not fair." She says pulling away.
"No, it's not." I say.
"Piper!" Hazel yells.
"I'll see you later." She says to me. I nod.

I see Maddy sitting quietly. I sit next to her.
"Hey, Mads." I say.
"Is Jason with Mommy?" She asks me. Oh shit.
"Yes." I sigh.
"I wanna go too."
"You can't right now." I say.
"I wanna see them, though."
"You will. One say. Just not now."
"Okay."

"Hey umm- B." Keefe says walking over handing me my water.
"Thanks." I say.
"Don't freak out." He sighs. "But Zeus is here."
"What?" I ask standing up. "Where is he."
"B-."
"Where the hell is he?"
"Over there." He points.

I start walking over. I see him drinking something.

"Hey Blair." He says looking at me. I grab the cup out of his hand and set it down.
"You have some fucking nerve." I say.
"I don't understand why you're upset."
"Do you know what his last thoughts were?" I ask stepping closer. He doesn't respond "They were 'dad please.' He begged you to help him! And you didn't show!" I yell.
"Well, I'm here now aren't I?" He asks.
"You're unbelievable." I say.

"You can't be yelling at me when you had the chance to save him. I'm not to blame, you are." He says.
"It's not my fault." I say clenching my fist. I can feel people watching us.

"If you would've been paying attention you could've, but you weren't. You didn't save him."
"Fuck you." I mutter.

"I think it's time you leave." Gael says to him.
"I'll leave when I want." Zeus says.

Maddy grabs onto me.
"I'm scared." She whispers.
"You're okay." I mutter.

"Maddy." Zeus says. I glare at him. "I think you should come with me to Olympus for a little bit."
"Absolutely not." I say moving infront of her.

"Maddy, come here." Keefe says.
"Go with Keefe." I say as she lets go of me.

"She's my daughter." Zeus says to me.
"She might be. But I will kill if you ever lay a hand on her." I say.
"I'm your father, you can't kill me." He laughs. I join him.
"Could've fooled me." I say.

He steps towards me.

"You can't deny it forever." He says.
"I'm not. You're my father just as much as you're Maddy's. But that doesn't change anything."
"You should leave." Thalia says. Zeus narrows his eyes.

"I'm the god of all gods. I'm more powerful than anyone here and I will not be disrespected." Zeus says. I step closer.
"If I were you, I'd get back to Olympus. You're not doing anything here but proving yourself to be a shit father. Go back before you're a shit leader too." I say.

He slaps me. I can see Kalo step forward. I put my arm to slop him.
"Get the fuck out of here. And if you ever try to take Maddy from me again I swear to you, I will burn Olympus down and fucking kill you." I say.

Zeus steps away from me and disappears.

I turn around and Maddy runs to me. I hug her tightly.
"I don't wanna go with him." She says.
"I will never let him touch you. I promise." I say pulling away.

"You okay?" Keefe asks me. I nod.
"I don't like that guy." Gael says.
"Join the club." I say.

"Can we go inside?" Maddy asks tugging my arm.
"Let's go." Alice says. Maddy walks over to her.
I walk over and grab my water.
"Can I kill him?" Kalo asks. I smile.
"He'd kill you." I say.
"I can put up a fight."
"I'd like to watch that." I say before he walks off.

I sit down and think. He said it's my fault. What if it is?

Keefe sits next to me.
"It's not your fault." He says.
"How-?"
"I can feel your emotions from way over there." Keefe says pointing. I sigh.
"But he's right. If I was paying attention he'd be alive."
"B. Stop. You can't blame yourself for something out of your control. Zeus is crazy." He says grabbing my hand. I nod.

"Yeah, you're right."
"I know I am." He smiles. I roll my eyes.

"Do you even need that anymore?" He asks pointing to the bracelet.
"No, it's pretty so I'm gonna keep it on." I say. He smiles.
"It is pretty."
