Author POV:

Riley was anxious about the ride back to LA. She was nervous to pack all of her things and leave the life that she and Rachel made. Even though all of Rachel's belongings were packed up, it was still a place full of their memories.

The laughs they shared, the times they had gotten drunk, the tears, the secrets, it was all theirs. Nothing would be the same as it was.

Never.

She had a lot of difficulty sleeping the night before they had to leave and her intrusive thoughts kept her up at night.

She couldn't help but think,

Was this the right decision?

Would she finally find peace?

Was she just running away again and not facing her problems?

Would it be worth it?

She thought it would be a wise decision. She'd get to be with her family and they would fight less because she would help out with the kids, she'll still go to a great school, and she wouldn't be in LA all lonely without Rachel and seeing Matt in love.

It would be the first time she's seen him in two months today since everything happened. She felt nervous, but she didn't know why.

She told herself over and over that she didn't love him, she didn't have feelings for him, and they could never be together.

She was nowhere near ready for a relationship and she didn't want to be under the pressure to conform herself to fit someone else needs. She didn't want to be taken advantage of, she had enough of that already.

As they were on the plane, there was complete silence. Riley stared out the window and didn't talk to anyone.

"Hey, is she okay?" Amelia asked

Derek who was sitting beside her shrugged.

Her right leg was bouncing up and down and she looked like she was in distress.

Derek put his hand on her knee and looked at her.

"Are you okay, honey?"  He whispered

"Yeah, I'm just ready to get this over with. Thanks for coming and helping, you didn't have to." She told

"Of course, you always do everything on your own. The kids can play with Josie while we pack up. We can't wait to have you back home." Meredith chuckled

"Me too, I don't have any reason to stay in California anymore, so this is for the best." She sighed

"You didn't tell him, did you?" Amelia frowns

"No, was that a bad idea? I don't want to talk to him after what happened. He doesn't know that I know how he truly feels about me and I'd like to keep it that way because if not, it will be harder to leave." She admits

"You love him, don't you?" Derek declares

"Dad!" Riley groans

"Sorry, Riles." He said

"I'm gonna put my headphones in now." She spoke out.

They all shook their head.

Riley POV:

As soon as we reached LA, we went to my place and I couldn't help but notice that Matthew and some girl were making out and leaving the lobby together. Fortunately, he didn't see me, but why am I even concerned if he is with someone or not?
