"Hey, kid."

Kayla looked over at the woman sitting in the car parked in front of her house. "Yeah...?"

"Go get your brother. Tell him that Baira's here and she needs to talk to him." The woman almost seemed to glare at me. "Got it?"

"Are you, like, one of his teachers of landlord or something?" Kayla frowned at her.

Baira groaned. "Look, he'll know what you mean, alright?"

Kayla frowned. "I guess that's better than standing around talking to a total stranger..." She ducked back inside.

Baira sighed. "I still can't believe that she's his sister. Or that he has a sister at all."

A few minutes later Yusaku came outside, Kayla right behind him. Yusaku looked exhausted and he had his duel disk on his arm.

"Is something wrong?" He asked, walking over to the car.

"As a matter of fact, there is." She bit her lip. "Roken is in the hospital."

Yusaku's eyes widened in surprise. "How-?"

"Don't know. I just know that someone forced him to log out of Link VRAINS and he wouldn't wake up. That was after his duel with...Glacier."

"Glacier's that duelist he came to see us about, right?" Kayla asked.

"She is." Baira nodded. "No one knows what happened during their duel because it was erased from Link VRAINS while it was happening."

"This is his room." Baira stepped aside so Yusaku and Kayla could enter before her.

Roken was lying unconscious in the bed, deathly pale. The machines that he was hooked up to beeped to the beat of his heart. Kayla covered her mouth with her hand, her eyes wide with horror.

The doctor who was checking on him looked up. "There's no change in his condition for now, which is both good and bad news." He seemed to be directing this comment at Baira. "Is she going to be okay?"

Everyone looked over at Kayla. She was almost as pale as Roken and looked like she was about to be sick.

"I'm fine." She shook her head quickly. "I'm just, uh, not good with stuff like this."

The doctor nodded. "Okay. I'll leave you to him now." The doctor gathered his supplies and left.

As soon as he was gone Baira quickly stepped over to Roken's side. Yusaku and Kayla followed.

"The doctor's said that he seems to be just like the people who fell into comas not that long ago, but I don't see how that's possible. I tried using the anti-virus program, but it didn't work." Baira's lips tightened. "I couldn't save him."

"It's not your fault." Kayla placed a hand on her shoulder. "You tried everything that you could, and even if you didn't, you can't hold yourself responsible. You might be the one who created the virus, but Glacier is the one who used it on him. If anyone's responsible, she is."

Baira was surprised to find herself nodding.

"I'll get to the bottom of this," Yusaku promised. "But first, I need to make some calls."
