"You should take a brake," Yui announced.
"What?" Kayla looked up at her from her computer.
"You should take a brake." Yui shut down her computer. "Since we're with the Knights of Hanoi now, you don't have to log in to search around the black market since everything that goes on there is basically at our fingertips. Also, you look exhausted."
"I'm not." Kayla pursed her lips, trying to hold back a yawn. "'Since we're with the Knights of Hanoi' we have projects that are assigned to us now. As part of the organization, they're counting on us to do them."
"You're just assigned to patrol Link VRAINS every once in a while and I'm working on beefing up their security, 'cause man it's low now. Neither of those projects take a long time. A brake would benefit both of us."
Kayla sighed and lay back on the wooden floor. "I know, but we still have our own things to do."
"That can wait. As you said yourself, 'It isn't extremely urgent, but it is important. As long as it's completed within the next year we should be fine.' Remember?"
"No."
"I'm quoting your exact words here!"
"Oh."
Yui sighed, shutting down her computer. "We only have half a month left until school starts. Let's make the most of it while we still can, alright?"
Kayla sighed. "Fine. I'll take a brake. But just for a few days."
Yui smiled. "Thank you. Do you want to stay for dinner? My parents won't be home until late tonight, since it's Friday."
"Sounds great, thanks." Kayla sat up again.
"Kayla, someone is trying to get your attention."
"Tell them to wait," She muttered. Getting woken up by Winter for next to no reason had become a norm in her life over the past couple of weeks. If there was anyone to blame for her recent exhaustion and lack of the ability to focus on something for more than a few minutes, it was her.
"I cannot. It must be a very important alarm, because it refuses to turn off."
"Alarm? I don't have any alarms set for the middle of the night."
"It seems that this one begs to differ."
Kayla reached under her pillow and pulled out her phone. She frowned when she saw its black screen.
"What do you want?" She demanded.
"Nothing. Also, that is not where your alarm is coming from. It is coming from your duel disk."
Kayla jumped out of bed and dug through her backpack, pulling out her duel disk and deck. Sure enough, her duel disk was vibrating and its screen was on.
"I'm coming, too!" Winter declared, jumping into her duel disk.
"I would be worried if you didn't. Let's hope that Yusaku doesn't wake up and see us. Now, Into the VRAINS!"
Sorry, Yui.
