We reached home after half an hour. She told me about how she broke the rules to come to me so I got license to break further. If she can... why I cannot. We didn't talk in car much and when she tried.. I glared her hard so she kept mum. I am not going leave her ese hi she has to answer some questions and I know she has questions for me too.

"Look who knows he has home?" Dad being sarcastic now. I rolled my eyes spreading on sofa.

"Waise kaha gir gye tum log... so dirty clothes" Maa scrunched her nose seeing our mud-soaked clothes.

"We just tried something adventurous so hanged on lake cliff" I said shrugging siting on sofa.

"What" they both said in unison. I rolled my eyes again.

"Maa relax.. wo it was dark toh just slip ho gya" she replied biting her lower lip.

Why to make hard for me, girl?

"What slip ho gya... mom I was about to die she pulled me or khud gir gyi... bahut chhoti biwi dilayi aapne" I said stretching my arms wide with a sulking face.

"You were about to die matlab pagal ho gya hai tu" I thought mom would say this but her husband said making me confused.

I am not adopted.

"You okay right Nandini... tumhe laga to nahi" he further asked her.

"Manu kuch hua beta or Nandini kahi laga to nahi" Mom checked me first and then her looking for any injury.

"Maa we are fine kuch bhi nahi hua" she said assuring her and they both kept calm.

"Go fresh ho jao... dinner is ready and you subah se kuch nhi khaya hai medicine bhi leni hai" Mom said to her showing forefinger.

"And You both sent her behind me" I said.

"Pehle toh scold her. she went to office early morning or uske baad we don't know where she was and came home in evening" Dad complained to me.

Phir mei usey daatunga to yeh mujhe hi bolenge.

"Overthinking ki dukaan hai teri biwi" mom said to me. I looked at my wife who was pouting looking at me.

"Stop complaining like some TV vamp. She was stressed. Ho gya" I said standing from sofa took her hand and off to my room without looking for their reactions.

"They were just concerned... you were rude" she whispered when we entered in room.

"Think if in parallel universe wo sach mei hamari love story ki villain hoti to" I said wondering about my mom. She can be anything but villain of my life.

"Aap phir bhi monster hi hote" she said giggling making me look at her. she was smiling finally. It seems after ages she smiled and I know this smile going to plastered for so long. I promise for that.

"Kaha kho gye... go change." She said snapping her fingers at my face.

"Thanks for being my life partner" she said when I was walking towards closet.

"Thanks for choosing me as your life partner" I replied and a wide smile with blush came on her face.

Mom was right she will fight for us. It was not easy for me to let go her hand but heat of the moment I just left from place. Being alone was not easy too but it was required for me to comprehend everything. She always told me she rejected him and wanted to reveal fully but I never let her and when this come out to me that they were in relationship for two years.... a sudden wave of jealousy arose in me.
