Chapter 10 - If Looks Could Kill

SKYLAR'S P.O.V.

• WEEK AFTER THE SUSPENSION•

I walked to school this morning like usual since Cole and Jess were now dating, and he insisted to take her to school. I was just starting to get back to the way it used to be at school before I got suspended. I've been getting fewer and fewer stared the past couple days since I've been back, and I'm hoping Courtney's return won't effect anything. Yes, I said Courtney. I figured out after a couple days of my suspension it was her that didn't like me, and Louis told me it was her, which is ironic considering it was about him. I walked into school like normal and of course, everyone was staring at me again.

"Hey Sky!" Nathan interrupted, running over to my side smiling.

"Hey, is it just me, or is everyone staring?" I whispered to him as I approached my locker. I quickly put in the combination and opened the locker and started putting my stuff in the locker.

"Courtney's back today," he told me. I sighed and nodded and I grabbed my Math stuff and shut my locker.

"If this is going to happen all day, it's going to be a long day," I told him and he laughed as he opened his locker and got his stuff for science before shutting his locker.

"I'll see you next hour if you play nice?" He teased and I rolled my eyes.

"Shut up Nathan," I laughed as I walked into the Math room where Louis was sleeping in his seat that was sat next to mine. I dropped my heavy textbook down on the desk so it made a loud noise, scaring Louis out of his chair which made me laugh.

"That's not funny!" He tried to defend himself but laughed also.

"I'm sorry, it was tempting," I laughed. Just then the bell rang and I sat down in my seat. I looked around the classroom and noticed Courtney was no where to be seen were was she?

• SECOND HOUR •

"I'm kind of tempted to just eat the cookie dough," Nathan told me. He was excited that today we were making chocolate chip cookies in Life Management.

"You can't do that Nath, we'll fail the assignment!" I argued. Just then this annoying alarm sound went through the PA system.

"Alright everyone! Line up and sit against that wall! This is a lockdown procedure, it could be real or fake so we have to be quiet!" The teacher warned us. Nathan and I sat up against the wall where we sat shoulder to shoulder and stayed quiet. About three minutes later we heard a gunshot and everyone's nerves sent them panicking. There were swift footsteps going in the hallway that kept everyone quieter than a mouse, then there was a snicker.

"Oh Skylar! I know you like Louis! It's not like I've liked him for seven years and now you just show up and ruin everything!" The persons voice sounded familiar, Courtney. She sounded like she was drunk, maybe wasted. The footsteps got closer and closer to the classroom before the doorknob started violently shaking. I stood up and walked to the other door at the other end of the classroom and walked out of the class as she walked in. I managed to run to the closest door and escape without worry and I stood outside panting. Just then the door opened again and I was terrified as ever until I recognized it was Nathan.

"She's chasing me, come on!" He encouraged me as we ran for the woods. Nathan and I ran and hid behind a huge fallen-down tree where Courtney was just coming out of the building.

"You can't hide Blessings! I know you're out there!" She shouted and we continued moving until we couldn't movie anymore and we had to get up and run again I ran for my life to no where in particular.

NATHAN'S P.O.V.

I was trying to keep up with Skylar but with wasn't able to. Courtney ended up catching up to me and she held me at gunpoint.

"Nathan!" I heard Skylar yell in the distance.

"Call her over here," Courtney commanded. I thought for a moment.

"Run!" I yelled as I was hit in the head by her gun. Everything went black and when I woke up, all I heard was a gunshot.

Bam, told you it would get exciting. ;)

Now the tables are turning! so stuff will get more interesting with Skylar, Nathan, and Louis.....Maybe even Cole too....c;
