Chapter 14: Smiling into the deep Blue

"Hi mother" Lisa speaks, letting her hand rest flatly on my back. As soon as the sun sets, the ravishing full moon show its glory, radiating its light coming from the sun.

Flashing my biggest smile to the parents, they welcomed me with the warmest hug. Everything feels new, this is the first I'll be celebrating christmas with someone else's family, not to mention my girlfriend's family. 

"Mom, Dad this is Jennie, my girlfriend" 

Speechless. 

Did I just hear that right? Immediately she mentions me as her girlfriend? What if her parents doesn't like me? This is so sudden, why didn't she tell me that it'd turn out this way?

Questions blabbering my nuisance mind as questions appear after another. "Pleasure to have finally meet the one and only Jennie" Her mother speaks in the most soothest voice.

I know now where Lisa had gotten her way of communicating softly.

But an unforeseen realization happened, her mother used the word 'finally', does this mean that Lisa had been talking about me to them? "Finally you made the move Lisa" Her father follows.

Eyes widening at their reaction, both of Lisa's parents bursted into laughters. "Come on inside first honey, I'll assume that our daughter haven't told you anything about her talking about you non stop for a whole year."

Mother speaks, as she walks taking a peep at either one of us through her shoulder.

Shaking my head in reply, I took my chance and made a quick glance at Lisa. She.. was calm? Lisa notices and smiles at me, intertwining her fingers with mine.

"Our daughter has never stop talking about you, even told us that she finds your admiration towards nature riveting." Mr. Manoban said, guiding us towards their dining table. "R-really?"

I stuttered, embarrased by the pools of information I'm gathering from her parents.

I supposed it's one thing that I love about Lisa, seeing how attentive she is when it comes to me led me to thinking how serious she is the moment she announced her feelings towards me.

"Okay that's enough information for tonight Mom. You're embarassing me" her tone filled with uneaseness.

"Our Lisa surely is growing up hon" Her mother stating in a teasing tone, earning a grin coming from my lips.

Lisa looks at me from her side, shyly hiding her now red cheeks. Everything feels surreal, almost as if I'm living in a dream that seems too good to be true.

The dinner went on, everything was perfect. The table filled with mouthwathering foods combined with the laughters roaming around in thin air, smiling to myself I released a deep sighed and slowly laid my back flatly on the tall chair.

Looking side to side the Manobans have one thing in common, is that their lips are always shaped in a crescent moon followed by numerous gigglings. 

Lisa who was sitting beside me made me realized just how in love I am with her, so much that it made me wonder what it would be like to get married and have children.

That thought soon fade the moment reality hit me, money. Where on earth would I earn that much money to have a stable family let alone survive myself.

Thoughts circling my head when suddenly a thumb brushed against the back of my hand, looking to my side Lisa was still busy talking with her parents but her hand continued to rest on mine, intertwining our fingers together. 

An hour later, Lisa and I bid goodbyes to the Manobans. We called a cab and all throughout the ride it was nothing but peace and quiet, my social battery definitely died during those few hours hanging out with her family.

Not that it's a bad thing but being an introvert, I easily get drained with these kind of events. Looking to my side, Lisa looks so beautiful. "You look so amazing" whispering the words, hoping it was loud enough for her to hear while patiently waiting for the door to open.

Few seconds later we are finally inside,she turns to face me and cups my cheeks, kissing my forehead. "And you look dashing tonight my love" My cheeks turning into a deep shade of red, without having any second thoughts I quickly yanked her hand away and hid my face from embarassment.

I'd rather die than let her see how red my face is right now, not to mention how hot my cheeks are.

She grins in reply and quickly wraps her big arms around my tiny waist. "I love you my Jennie Ruby Jane Kim, you are going to be the death of me I swear to God" I turn to face her and rolled my eyes in reply.

The term bothered is definitely what I'm feeling right now, but Lisa being in her natural state. How could I stay bothered when all I want to do is slowly let my body be devoured by her.

"I love you most Lisa"
