Sweat amassed over my forehead by the time we reached nearer to our destination for our honeymoon.
In the middle of nowhere to their palatial bungalow amidst these lush green mountains holding comparable arrest.
"Wow..."
"Did you like it?"
"It... pretty,"
For the sake of garner, I bore with his looming form, affixed with a minatory smirk which gave me perturbation.
"Um.. Where are we going?" I asked vaguely.
His eyes fixed outside while he was flexing his money by reaching our place in his helicopter.
"Are you eager?" He asked, regaled by my mere question.
"Curious." I replied innocently.
Peering at his intricate attributes while he simply wallowed in my worry, as if my distress was a source of enjoyment.
"I see..." He hummed.
Leaning back and closing his eyes momentarily before reaching our destination.
"That's the business you had in Milan?" I asked.
Realizing we are back in Italy, going to Milan. If he intended to take me back to Italy then why did he bother to take us to New York first?
"It's a beautiful place." He hummed, ignoring my question.
Eventually we reached the ritzy bungalow, the clear gaiety on his face alarmed me of what he pre-planned.
'I wonder if my measly attempt will stand forthright?'
He will blow it away in a matter of seconds but that's exactly what I needed.
"Where are you lost? Come." He shrugged, giving my back a pat, leading me inside with him.
"Nothing."
With a soft utterance, I walked inside the lavish place, scrutinizing the place.
"What do you think of it?" He asked, almost thrilled with a tender smile.
"It's beautiful. The architect is unique."
It was more like a dream land where the dream couples spend their happily ever after but there is no 'happy' and I am even skeptical about the 'ever after' part as well.
"Glad to know."
He chuckled, wrapping his arms around my shoulder, creeping a crimson shade on my cheek.
"It's for you." He whispered, studying the stagger accumulated on my face.
"What?!"
"Yeah... I literally gave you nothing as a wedding gift... so this is for you."
For the first time, I caught a glimpse of true happiness on his face, holding his hand out, welcoming me.
"Really?" I asked in disbelief.
"Yeah." He nodded, taking my hand. My eyes scanned the place in awe, unsure of how to react.
"Nathaniel." I stopped mid-way at the stairs.
"Hmm?" He turned, returning me a smile. 'Please make it reality and last it forever.'
"Thank you." I whispered, giving him a genuine smile.
"You don't have to thank me."
This usual smirk came back, holding an eerie darkness ten times darker than before.
