"Attaching yourself with her was not part of the plan, Boss." De Villiers said from behind, almost mocking me.

Closing my eyes, I leaned back on my seat. "Hmm."

It's been a month since that incident and after it, I maintained my distance with Zariah so her darkness doesn't affect me too, I need to keep my emotions at bay.

"You know how it pisses me off when things don't go my way." I hummed, tapping my fingers on the table, not opening my eyes.

"Still, I don't understand why you are straying?" He asked, narrowing his eyes.

"I am not straying, De Villiers. What happened till now, all of it is a part of my plan." I sighed, still in my relaxed posture.

"Then what exactly are you planning? You are doing nothing other than desiring her." He asked, frowning at my lack of recognition.

"You think people call me Plague Doctor for naught?" Finally a dark smirk came to my lips, opening my eyes, staring at the ceiling, emitting a vicious aura indicating my intentions.

"I know all the cures." I whispered, holding pride in my own self.

Everything is going accordingly.

"What do you mean?" He asked, utterly baffled. My smirk grew wider as I looked at him, straightening my back.

"Unknowingly, she is becoming exactly what I wanted." I chuckled, twirling my knife in my fingers.

"What do you mean?" He asked, narrowing his eyes but knowing the extent of my devious mind, he placed his faith upon it.

"She is blindly craving me. Last time, she tried pointing her gun at me but couldn't kill me. All it took was a few heartbreaking words and she has attached her heart with mine." I told him.

Even if my emotions were real at that point, now, it's only a part of my plan I need to use to my advantage and lure her into my trap. I must fulfill that promise I made.

"I can't believe you are doing all this for her, I bet you are highly fond of her." He hummed, leaning back. The only person I trust is him and he knows my plan. This is so perfect at this point and I am too close to hold what's mine.

"My dearest wife thinks only she knows how to twist words and display them to her favor. She is truly underestimating me." I let out a suppressed laugh.

'Ah, how vacuously she said those in-depth words which intoxicate my heart but since when do I work with emotions?' It's baseless because before my intention, emotions don't matter.

"You're gonna capture her entirely in your arena, don't you?" De Villiers sighed, smirking at my reaction, leaning back, I shrugged.

"Of course. I am doing all this for her sake after all." I mumbled, closing my eyes again.

"I wonder why? Why are you going so far for her sake?" De Villiers asked the question whose answer even I was unaware of.

"I don't know why but I know only I can do this." I sighed, telling him honestly.

"She will resent you forever for this betrayal." De Villiers reminded me, it made my heart clench but I have burned my way back now. The arrow has been released from the bow and my targets never miss.

"It doesn't matter." I replied hollowly, taking my phone and using it.

"Why did she stop?" He asked after a brief pause, my whole being halted when he asked along with strange flutters.

"I don't know either." I exhaled deeply in disappointment, I couldn't forget that face, her hands were trembling. She couldn't kill me- Why?

"Why is she devoted to you?" He asked again, but sometimes her ruse feels like a beautiful reality. I wanted to believe in her words but I know, she lies.
